April's featured model is The Faun - denizen of the Cedar Grove, an ancient entity that maintains dominion over the flora and fauna within.

I'm proud of this model - I'm trying to push myself to improve some of my weaker areas (like robes / folds) and so I spent a lot of time and care designing the layering of the Faun's robes. I wanted it to feel classical and greek in a sense, slightly ceremonial, and a little unique. You'll notice that the VoidRealm Minis glyph alphabet adorns the sash he carries draped across his arms.

The Faun's face was also really important for me to get right. I pulled some classical references together, along with faces of goats and, of course, Guillermo del Toro's iconic design for his Faun in Pan's Labyrinth. However, in contrast to his Faun, which is very much "of the earth" and organic, I wanted the VoidRealm Faun to feel like a venerable sorcerer, demigod, or earthwalking avatar of a grander cosmic being. I landed on a facial design that includes a secondary set of eyes offset from his primary eye, a subtle suggestion of a third eye closed on his forehead, and a celestial, lunar element with his horns and crown that will pair nicely with his beast, the Moon Worm, which I'll be revealing soon as the first "Epic Entity" for this cycle of VoidRealm Minis.

The Grove Hyenas are the main VoidRealm Minis release for March. This set includes:

• 3 head variations
• 2 poses for each head
• 6 total model combinations

The primary head design draws inspiration from ancient Sumerian sphinxes, while the other two heads lean demonic.

They print fairly large as well, with the standing pose pre-supported at roughly 70mm, so they'll make imposing enemy encounters on the tabletop.

This release continues the exploration of fauna of the Cedar Grove, which will culminate next month with the reveal of the first Epic Entity. I'm also planning a short 5e adventure with lore and stats to help you incorporate the Cedar Grove and its creatures directly into your games.

VoidRealm Minis is a 1-man creative endeavor: all concepts and sculpts are the direct result of my mind, hand, and soul (...as messed up as my soul appears at times, I swear I'm a decent guy!)

[Lore Drop] Cycle I: Visions of Sa-ini

These stone tablets that I have located contain a firsthand account of a mysterious boy known as Sa-ini. The ancient Akkadian is difficult to translate, and there are fragments that are missing or damaged. It seems that, as a boy no more than ten, he somehow discovered the Cedar Grove in the highlands near his childhood home.

This means that his writing, these tablets... they must be thoroughly translated and studied --- though I fear what I may uncover --- if he is who I believe him to be.

I was skeptical at first, – after all, it can take years for travelers experienced with Veil navigation to locate the Grove. But his description of the strange fauna, the Pools, and his encounter with the Faun align with what we know to be true about this elusive place.

For example, once at the Ponds, he describes visions of “strange creatures, with wings that emanated from their bodies in ripples, and with thin, long [trumpets] that emitted deep, low sounds, an ethereal orchestra. They floated across the small pools, their haunting music rippling the water and even the ground itself.” These are certainly the Heralds of the Faun, easily corroborated by others who have located the Grove.

Designer Con 2025!

Thanks to everyone who came out and said hello at Designer Con. This was the first large convention for VoidRealm Minis, and it was such an invigorating (and, admittedly, exhausting) weekend that left me full of ideas and inspiration. I featured prints of sculpts spanning nearly 6 years of work. It's unbelievable to think that a seed of an idea born in 2020 when I was out of work would bring me to a place where I've now created over 200 unique models, many featuring my own, original concepts alongside interpretations of popular Cthulhu Mythos monsters and deities.
