Captain James Kasper instantaneously became addicted to tarpon fishing over 13 years ago when on his first tarpon trip, the first bait he threw in the water got inhaled and he got to launch, battle, and land a beautiful 135lb Silver King. First Trip, First Bait, First Fish. Immediately thereafter, he learned tarpon fishing ain't that easy, and as since worked, grinded, and refined his craft, and now loves to pass on the thrill and addiction to clients and friends. Kasper is a USCG licensed and insured Captain and runs tarpon only boat and kayak charters April through July.
He fishes out of a 2015 26' Gause Built towerboat, as well a Hobie Outback kayak using live and dead bait using Shimano Saragosa Rods and Shimano Teramar or Terez rods. He has guided clients for the Ed Albers Tarpon Rodeo to back to back top 3 finishes, places multiple weeks in the Suncoast Tarpon Roundup, won the 2016 STR 4th of July Tournament, and has tied for first place in the Suncoast Tarpon Shootout Tarpon Kayak Tournament the last two years.
In addition to tarpon fishing, he is a proud husband and father of five, has his BBA in Marketing from Stetson University, and is a real-estate investor & builder.
