If we were dictators for a day… 😅

There would only be two orders:

🧹 End the patronage system.

🐊 Drain the swamp.

That’s it.

Then we’d happily give the power back to the people.

Democracy can resume tomorrow. 😉

We need water, not a golf course.

Nobody is saying parks and recreation don’t matter. They do.

But when families are worried about water quality and long-term water security, our priority should be working together to solve those problems first.

If millions of taxpayer dollars are being discussed for a golf course redesign, many residents will naturally ask:

Why isn’t the same urgency being shown toward fixing our water challenges?

Webb County and the City of Laredo should be working together to make clean, reliable water the top priority.

A golf course can wait.

Water can’t. 💧

Everybody wants a better Laredo. That isn’t the issue.

The issue is accountability.

Nobody is saying good employees, police officers, firefighters, engineers, or city staff shouldn’t be paid fairly. They absolutely should.

What taxpayers are asking is simple:

• Are we getting results?
• Are projects being completed on time and on budget?
• Are taxpayer dollars being spent wisely?
• Are public officials being held accountable for their decisions?

Wanting transparency doesn’t make someone a “taquache” or a complainer. It makes them a taxpayer.

Supporting competitive salaries and demanding accountability are not opposites—they go hand in hand.

Laredo deserves the best professionals. It also deserves honest government, responsible spending, and leaders willing to answer tough questions.

Citizens shouldn’t be shamed for asking where their tax dollars are going. That’s not complaining—that’s civic responsibility.
