Friends, as we head into 2026, I am thrilled to announce that I have received a Minnesota State Arts Board grant to help support the third and final installment of our "Common Ground" Series.

This final installment will explore what it means to find common ground with our friends, neighbors, and community members with whom we may not see eye to eye on Common Sense Gun Laws and the Second Amendment.

Together, as with our past Common Ground performances, There is a Field (which explored reproductive rights) and Surf & Turf: Stories of Water & Earth (which explored climate change), we will be meeting with groups of people to talk about their stories and viewpoints, and to create a devised theatrical work called In These Sovereign Woods.

We know that each of these topics is politically charged and could spark divisive discussions.

But here at -Audacious Raw Theater, we believe in the possibility of unity by listening to and creating work inspired by our local community.

This event is made possible by the voters of Minnesota through a Minnesota State Arts Board grant, thanks to a legislative appropriation from the Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund.

This is IT! Tonight is the ONE & ONLY performance of ART-Audacious Raw Theater Year 9: The Future has an Ancient Heart.

The show starts at 7 pm at Eagle Bluff Environmental Learning Center's North Campfire Circle.

Bring chairs, bug spray, and whatever else you need to be comfy. The new wooden benches are great, but they don't have backs, so be forewarned :)

Our grateful hearts want to acknowledge Lanesboro Arts for their generous partnership and marketing of this event.

And this year features the brave hearts of Sandy Webb, Jack Uldrich, Diane Knight, Jerome Yorks, and Catherine Glynn.

We come to you as amateurs who love the act of creation and collaboration. We come to you with beginner's minds, bodies, and open hearts.

Today we had the honor and privilege of working with Professor Emeritus Bob Larson of Luther College. Bob’s heart changed the shape of our hearts. Our hearts grew at least two sizes larger with his insights and coaching.

Come see the results tomorrow night at Eagle Bluff Environmental Learning Center at 7pm in The North Campfire Circle.

Where beautiful new benches will support you and our audacious raw hearts will touch and entertain you.

Futurist Jack Uldrich, Educator Sandy Webb, Poet Diane Knight and Devised Theater-makers Jerome Yorke and Catherine Glynn make up this year’s ensemble.

YEAR 9

The Future Has an Ancient Heart.

Inspired by the words of Italian author Carlo Levi this year's theme is about looking to the future while honoring the past.

If you are interested in taking part... and sharing in workshops in the devising process, please send us a message and we'll share with you what the process involves.

The one and only performance will be taking place on Wednesday, August 6th, 2025, at Eagle Bluff Environmental Learning Center from 7pm-Dusk at the North Campfire Ring.

As always, we are delighted to partner with Lanesboro Arts & Eagle Bluff Environmental Learning Center.

When you are ready come out from your den of despair— and head toward the Light.

There is great work to be done.

Your body.
Your mind.
Your voice.
Your soul.

Every single part of you is needed..

When you are ready, chop wood and carry water.
And Remember:
You are free to weep as you do so.
Remember: You are free to set it down when it overwhelms you.
Remember: You are free to ask for help.
Remember: Kindred spirits are everywhere waiting to be seen and invited to the effort.

Together, moment by moment, day by day, year by year we will get through this together.
