Art By Natalia VA

Art By Natalia VA At its core, my art is an invitation to pause, to feel, to reconnect with nature, with yourself, with the invisible threads that tie us all together.

Because art, like life, isn’t just about what we see, it’s about what we feel. Born and raised amidst the vibrant cultural mosaic of Trinidad, I am an expressionist artist deeply rooted in the lush landscapes and rich heritage of the Caribbean. From an early age, growing up on the islands, I found myself captivated by the natural beauty around me. Nature spoke to me in a profound and unshakable wa

y, shaping my connection to the world and inspiring me to begin drawing as a little girl. This bond with nature is the heart of my artistic journey. Its energy and rhythm flow through my work as I explore and express it using various mediums. My creations are reflections of the world’s beauty and an emotional response to its essence, a way of feeling and understanding our connection to something greater. Through my art, I strive to inspire and uplift, encouraging viewers to see their surroundings through a new lens and discover their place within life's larger fabric. By channeling the abstract and emotional elements of nature, I aim to create work that resonates deeply, inviting others to feel the same profound connection that drives me to create.

No one really talks about the business side of being an artist.

We see the finished pieces, the studio videos, the exhibitions, the beautiful installations, but behind all of that is basically a whole other job.

As an independent artist, I’m not just creating the art. I’m photographing it, posting it, updating my website, answering emails, following up with collectors, reaching out to art galleries and interior designers, creating content, networking, keeping track of commissions, figuring out pricing, shipping, shows, marketing…and somewhere in between all of that, I’m supposed to actually have time to create.

And I think that’s the part people don’t always see, especially when you’ve decided to make your art a business and still building.

Until then, I’m learning as I go, wearing all the hats, making mistakes, figuring things out, putting myself out there and still finding my way back to the studio.

I named this piece "The Weight of Water" because water can feel so peaceful and calming, but at the same time, it carries so much strength.

I wanted this piece to capture that feeling, the way water moves through the landscape, carving its own path while everything around it grows and settles into place.

I hand-sculpted each of the rocks and surrounded them with preserved moss and lifelike greenery, then created the dark resin water flowing through the center.

I love how it feels like you’re looking down into a little hidden place somewhere in nature.

This is one of those pieces I could just sit and look at for a while. It feels peaceful, a little mysterious, and very much like an escape.

My art festival season is almost here, and I’m SO ready! 🤍🎨

I’ve been busy creating behind the scenes, and I honestly can’t wait to finally show you my new collection in person. There’s something so different about seeing these pieces up close, the textures, the resin, and the natural elements… photos or videos just don’t capture it all.

This new collection is all about bringing the calm and beauty of the ocean into your space. 🌊 Whether it’s your home, office, entryway, or even a quiet little corner that needs something special, these pieces are designed to bring a sense of tranquility and connection to nature.

If you’re in the Sarasota or Tampa Bay area, I’d love for you to stop by, say hello, see the new collection, and maybe even find the perfect piece for your space. 🤍

All of my upcoming art festival dates are listed on my website, and I’ll continue updating them as new shows are added.

Can’t wait to see some familiar faces and meet some new ones too!

See you this art festival season! 🌿🌊

"𝑽𝒆𝒓𝒅𝒂𝒏𝒕 𝑵𝒐𝒊𝒓"

When I created Verdant Noir, I really wanted to play with the contrast between the deep black resin and all of that beautiful, lush greenery.

There’s something about the darkness that makes every little detail like the moss, succulents, stones, rocks and that touches of gold come alive.

And nature doesn’t always grow in a straight line. It twists, turns, finds its way around obstacles, and somehow continues to flourish. That’s really what Verdant Noir means to me.

I created this piece to bring a little bit of that feeling indoors, that feeling of calm, nature, and beauty, but with a bold and luxurious edge.

And like all of my work, Verdant Noir is completely one of a kind. There will never be another one exactly like it.
