What's the last line of this piece? This one is an exclusion, and a powerful one, but I rarely post nearly complete pieces...only five syllables...

Tonight I Buried

Tonight I buried roses
Beneath a homeless moon;
Tonight I buried memory,
With every blackened spoon.

Tonight I am candlelight
That burned until the dawn
Tonight I buried all my love;
’Til all my love was gone.

Tonight I buried my pure heart,
Beating underground.
Tonight I buried all my hope
’Til hope could not be found.

Tonight I fled at dusk,
Looking for lost trust.
But trust burned all through the night,
Falling down in dust.

And now I’m holding silence where
Darkness walks at noon,
Full of shadows that are blooming

Easily, endlessly, effortlessly the following villanelle by Sylvia Plath is the most pure genius piece I have read from another writer in easily the last twenty years. The villanelle, a French poetic form dating back to the sixteenth century, is commonly considered one of the most difficult forms to execute. Read the following piece... what did Plath say about this form in her ex*****on? For a hint, take a look at the ex*****on of villanelles by other famous writers. Villanelles are a literal crucifix for poets. Plath says everything...

Mad Girl's Love Song

I shut my eyes and all the world drops dead;
I lift my lids and all is born again.
(I think I made you up inside my head.)

The stars go waltzing out in blue and red,
And arbitrary blackness gallops in:
I shut my eyes and all the world drops dead.

I dreamed that you bewitched me into bed
And sung me moon-struck, kissed me quite insane.
(I think I made you up inside my head.)

God topples from the sky, hell's fires fade:
Exit seraphim and Satan's men:
I shut my eyes and all the world drops dead.

I fancied you'd return the way you said,
But I grow old and I forget your name.
(I think I made you up inside my head.)

I should have loved a thunderbird instead;
At least when spring comes they roar back again.
I shut my eyes and all the world drops dead.
(I think I made you up inside my head.)

--Sylvia Plath

What’s your favorite love poem? Participate to see me share my own work. Could it be possible that the best love poetry of all time was recently written? Are we not accustomed to thing the best of all writers ever have already lived and past: Shakespeare, Dante, Donne, Milton, etc…? Could it even be possible that I have written the greatest most enduring love poetry of all time?

So while interviewing a candidate to be a personal assistant for me, this person decided to aggressively and argumentatively rewrite the job description and even the pay, then, realizing that she may have screwed up, she decided to iron out the wrinkles by highlighting her "genetically linked" bad temper...instead of apologizing, she proudly defended it, letting me know that it was just something I would have to deal with if she were hired to be my assistant.

HMMMM....I AM GOING TO SAVE YOU SOME TIME AND REMOVE ALL DOUBT....YOU WILL NEVER HEAR FROM ME AGAIN...

Well, it’s been a year since I lost Penny, and I found this little girl. I’m pretty sure I’m going to pull the trigger and go get her in a half hour. Obviously, her name will be something related to poets/poetry. So I’m there g it out to everyone… can you offer some ideas for a name for this little girl?
