Some tattooers seem to hate doing cover ups and love making excuses about why they can’t be done, but with a little elbow grease, lots of patience, trust and determination most old tattoos can be disguised.

Just be ready to go LARGE and DARK depending on what you have. I happen to enjoy the challenge but I will honestly tell you if it can’t be done the way you might prefer or at all.

St Cuthbert’s cross tattoo for Rob to match with his daughter, an archaeologist. You can find the actual pendant at Durham Cathedral in northeastern England.

Intricate Ukrainian pysanky eggs are a specialty of Emily Manka-White ❤️ when they asked me to recreate the style in a tattoo, I was SO STOKED, but also a little nervous to get it all right, since this is such a precise art and so meaningful to them.

I’m so grateful for the collaboration we had on this and the experience to do something out of my comfort zone. Here are some healed shots and a few gorgeous examples of the real deal on the last slide.
