What a year it's been in the BHS art room. So many amazing pieces of art, fun memories and inspiring artists. We are looking forward to a relaxing and restful summer and then getting back to learning and making art next fall. Thanks for all the support. ❤️ 🎨 🐝

BHS Jacket Art 2 and art 4 artists did a great job on their portfolio pieces during their pop up art show this week for their final exams. They have been working on these projects from planning, creating, writing an artist statement to discussing their artwork during the show. They all did so well. 🎨 🖌

Art 2 created a series of artwork, wrote an artist's statement and had a pop up art show in the courtyard to discuss their artwork with the guests coming to see their artwork for their art 2-4 final exam. I had to share one of our 10th grade, art 2 BHS Jacket Artist's work and artist's statement. This is Lily. She's an artist and her favorite medium is photography. She captures pictures for both Buford High School athletics with her own press pass on and off the fields and for herself. She has grown significantly in her art abilities this semester and has come to realize what an amazing artist she was and still is. Look at her work, read her statement. Creativity is in her soul. Today was the last day for most seniors in art class. They have been working hard on their last art project before graduation. We are very lucky to have admin who are willing to participate and have fun with our students. We hope they like their big head sculptures. ❤️ 🎨 🐝

Meet Ashton, our next Senior Jacket Artist Spotlight. He says he likes art because it allows him to visualize his imagination on a canvas. His favorite medium to use is clay because he gets to build with his hands and it's very fun. The clay piece was also his favorite project. He thinks it's relaxing and he hasn't touched clay since elementary school. He's also looking forward to glazing it as his last project in art at BHS. He wants to make art in the future during his free time and at work. We hope you have a wonderful summer and keep being creative Ashton. 😀 🎨 🖌
