Well? Life is happening..My great friend Johnny JJ Jones(guitar player in the photo) has passed away. The Empire family lost its leader. For years, Johnny was at the helm of one of the greatest gigging rock bands that our city (Tulsa) has ever known. Knowing him as personally as I did, I can tell you that he was a sweetheart of a man. When we talked on the phone, we would talk for an hour or more…in most cases, just Chitty chat about Music and how the Band was doing. I was lucky enough to get to sing with Empire for a while and I cherish the friendships that I made while with them. Eric Castles (lifelong friend and brother) reached out to let me know.
I miss just hanging out and talking to these guys. Johnny? I know you’re in Heaven buddy. I’ll see you on the other side.
