"DEATH IS A BLACK WIDOW!"
This is the cover art to Daredevil, Man Without Fear No. 81 by GIL KANE & FRANK GIACOIA.
Cover Date: November 1971.

This issue has two stories, the first is titled: "AND DEATH IS A WOMAN CALLED WIDOW."
Creative Team: Gerry Conway, Gene Colan, Jack Abel, John Costanza & Stan Lee.

Daredevil sinks to the bottom of New York's Harbor after going down with the Owl's Helicopter.

Meanwhile, Karen Page who saw Daredevil's fateful crash on television believes that Matt is dead and faints.
However, unbeknownst to Karen and even the Owl, Daredevil is rescued by the Black Widow.

She pulls him ashore then pulls back keeping her presence hidden for the time being.

At the same time Mr. Kline cuts ties with the Owl after he almost killed Daredevil, who he wanted captured. Luckily Mr. Kline reveals that he had alternate plans in place to save him.

The Owl having just been kicked to the curb gets his men in order while Karen shares a comforting moment of romantic mourning with Phil Hichok after believing Matt to have been killed.

Daredevil who's still reeling from the crash and almost drowning returns to the offices of Nelson and Murdock to recover.

Foggy questions if he should be helping him before Daredevil collapses on the floor, which leads him to help him.

Switch scenes and the Owl and his men are robbing the Treasury Building, but just a few blocks away Natasha and Ivan are having a financial consultation when they hear the sounds of explosives coming from the building.

Natasha jumps into action as the Black Widow and confronts the Owl and his men.

Meanwhile, Daredevil who has since awoken hears the commotion as well and heads off to fight just as Foggy returns to find him missing from the room.

Black Widow and the Owl continue to fight and just when it looks like the Owl is getting the upper hand Daredevil makes it into the Treasury Building and aids the Black Widow.

The second story is titled: "THE SINISTER SPACETRAP!"

"Send for...the Scorpion!"
Remember the Scorpion? Well, Daredrvil has never met him but he will never forget him after this one!

"NOW SEND...THE SCORPION!"

While Daredevil is testing out his prowess to see if he has fully recovered, the Black Widow receives a call from Ivan warning her not to come after him.

Not heeding his warning the Black Widow finds herself captured by Mr. Klein's latest employed super-villain, the Scorpion.

Meanwhile, as Karen Page seeks continued comfort from her agent Phil, Matt who's unaware that Karen is in the city revises and rebuilds his Billy Club.

Just as he's completed it he's alerted by a noise upstairs.
While investigating the noise, Matt finds the unconscious Ivan and a note asking Daredevil to come to a predetermined location and that the Black Widow is the attacker's hostage.

Battling the Scorpion in Central Park, Daredevil is easily kept at bay because of some added hardware in the form of a laser weapon that's been included in the Scorpion's arsenal.

While Daredevil manages to disarm his foe, the Scorpion manages to get away.

Meanwhile, Foggy decides to handle the threats of Mr. Klein, and soon learns the true identity of Mr. Klein who then informs Foggy that he will now work for him.

Daredevil manages to track the Scorpion to the top of the World Trade Center, which is under construction.
During the battle, the Black Widow gets free and helps Daredevil in the fight.

In the heat of the battle, the Black Widow accidentally knocks the Scorpion off the edge the building and the crook falls to his apparent death.
After the fight is over, an eyewitness claims that the Black Widow killed the Scorpion in cold blood.

In this issue, The Black Widow is accused of murder with Foggy Nelson for the prosecution!
And if that isn't enough, here comes Mr. Hyde!

"THE WIDOW ACCUSED!"
Creative Team: Gerry Conway, Alan Weiss, Barry Smith, Bill Everett, Artie Simek & Stan Lee.

With the Scorpion apparently dead, the Black Widow has been accused of his murder.

When the police try to take her in she makes her escape.
Daredevil is able to track her down and the two fight briefly before she again flees from the him.

Daredevil catches up to her but this time the Black Widow attempts to negotiate with him, but in the end Daredevil is forced to subdue her with the rope from his billy club.

Daredevil then drops her off with the police, but vows to help her by speaking with the District Attorney.
Meanwhile during the transport of the "Scorpion's" body the paramedics are attacked by Mr. Hyde.

Upon returning to his apartment Matt remembers that the Scorpion had dropped off Natasha's chauffeur, Ivan, earlier with a note attached as a challenge to for Daredevil to save the Black Widow.

So Matt quickly changes out of his Daredevil costume and confronts the groggy man who had just begun to stir awake.

After some quick introductions, Matt informs Ivan that Natasha is has been imprisoned and Ivan starts rampaging around Matt's office.

Ivan's temper cools after Matt intentionally puts himself in harms way of one of Ivan's blows, causing the man to snap out of his frenzy.
After apologizing, Ivan leaves the apartment in a state of helplessness.

After the scuffle with Ivan Matt tries to enlist the aid of his friend and District Attorney Foggy Nelson. Foggy has different ideas as to how the case should be tried, as he's hell bent on cracking down on the Black Widow and all costumed heroes.

At last...the Assassin!
The cataclysmic climax, as Daredevil fights an indestructible foe!
And introducing the creature called...Baal!

"NIGHT OF THE ASSASSIN!"

As the Black Widow is spending time in Switzerland, she meets with Dr. Emil Borgdsky who is really the android Assassin in a new disguise.

Dr. Borgdsky informs her that he has perfected a treatment to restore the sight of the blind.

Meanwhile in New York, Daredevil stops some thugs, and is informed by Foggy Nelson that his opposition against the Black Widow was due to Mr. Klein blackmailing him, and after all was said and done, Klein had left the country.

Getting a call from Black Widow, Matt Murdock travels to Switzerland, where the two rekindle their romance.
But when Matt meets Borgdsky, he realizes there is something wrong.

The two heroes eventually fall into the trap of Mr. Klein, really the robot MK-9 who has been sent from a distant future by a being known as Baal.

Battling Daredevil, MK-9 reveals that it is trying to stop Daredevil and Black Widow in order to prevent future events that would bring about the end of humanity.

The battle ends when two executioners arrive and destroy MK-9.
Daredevil and Black Widow manage to escape the exploding observatory base.

The Executioners emerge from the ruins and tell Daredevil and Black Widow to enjoy their fates before returning to their own time.

The Gladiator Strikes!
It's mile-high madness as the Man Without Fear battles the power-packed Gladiator in the deadly skies!

"NIGHT FLIGHT!:
Creative Team: Gerry Conway, Gene Colan, Syd Shores, John Costanza & Stan Lee.

While Matt and Natasha take a plane back to the United States from Switzerland, Foggy resigns as the D.A. in shame over his blackmail and manipulation by Mr. Klein. Karen Page and her agent Phil Hichok prepare to return to California.

Back on the plane heading back to New York, Matt's senses identify somebody familiar, but he cannot put his finger on who it is. However, the person is soon revealed to be Melvin Potter aka the Gladiator who hijacks the airplane.

Matt manages to get away and change into his Daredevil costume and with the help of the Black Widow.

He manages to defeat the Gladiator and his fellow hijackers.
The fight knocks out the plane's radar, and DD uses his abilities to help the plane land at the airport.

Later, Matt runs into Karen and the two share a kiss and an embrace, much to the sadness of Natasha.

Well, he's back and so is the breathtaking Black Widow!
But they'd better hurry because Daredevil is leaving New York!

"ONCE UPON A TIME...THE OX!"
Creative Team: Gerry Conway, Gene Colan, Tom Palmer, Artie Simek & Stan Lee.

With the opening of Karen Page's new movie in New York, Matt, Karen, Natasha, Ivan and Foggy are all in attendance and speaking to the media.

Also as part of the news broadcast is word that "Karl Stragg" who's really Raymond Bloch who has been stuck in Stagg's body since Daredevil No. 15 is released from prison.

Wishing revenge on those who trapped him in a weak body, "Stragg" suddenly undergoes a transformation that changes him back into his original form of the Ox!

Wracked with pain and building up with radiation, the Ox blames Matt Murdock for putting him in jail to begin with and so goes on a rampage across the city.

Battling Daredevil, the Ox's radiation builds up to such a degree that his body explodes seemingly killing him.

After the battle, Karen admits to Matt that she still cannot handle him being Daredevil and leaves him to return to L.A.
Matt then rekindles his romance with the Black Widow.

In this issue, Daredevil and Black Widow hit San Francisco and nobody's minding the welcome wagon but Electro!
This is a titanic turning-point issue!

"FROM STAGE LEFT, ENTER: ELECTRO!"

Moving into a new home with the Black Widow in San Francisco, the two heroes end up battling Electro, who has come to San Francisco to make a new name for himself as a super-villain on the west coast.

As the two are battling Electro, their residence is visited by a man named Danny French who has come looking for Natasha.

Gaining the upper hand against Electro, Daredevil fights the villain until he retreats.
Then police Commissioner "Iron Gus" O'Hare, decides that he is going to keep an eye on these heroes.

Returning home, Ivan informs the Black Widow that Danny French had come by the house.
This news is grim to the Black Widow, who turns away Matt and Ivan's offer for help.

In this issue, Killgrave, the Purple Man, is back and Daredevil may never be the same again, even if he lives!
Plus, the Black Widow's secret past!

"CALL HIM KILLGRAVE!"

As Black Widow tries to catch up with Danny French, Daredevil pays a visit to Commissioner "Iron Guts" O'Hara to let him know that he and the Black Widow intend to stay in San Francisco.

Meanwhile, Daredevil's presence is detected by the Purple Man who has been laying low and planning an operation out of San Francisco.

When Matt once again offers his help to Black Widow, she refuses him again and storms out.
Ivan tells Matt about how he had rescued her as a child during World War 2 and how he saw to it she was raised into the woman that she is today.

When Daredevil tries to trail the Black Widow in her next attempt to find Danny French, he has to stop when he detects a robbery in progress.

This happens to be one orchestrated by the Purple Man which brings Daredevil into direct conflict with his old enemy. Daredevil is captured by the Purple Man but is eventually saved by Ivan!

Meanwhile, Black Widow catches up with Danny French and after some discussion, the two decide to deal with their last failed mission together: Project Four.

Electro and Killgrave gang up against the Man Without Fear!

As Daredevil continues to cripple the Purple Man's operations around San Francisco, Black Widow considers working with Danny French to finish their last mission: Project Four.

Furious over Daredevil's interference in his operations, Killgrave, learning of Electro's criminal activity in the San Francisco area tracks down the electric villain and the two team up to crush their mutual foe.

As Matt tries to talk the Black Widow into letting him help her with her current problems the two are attacked by Purple Man and Electro.

Daredevil battles Killgrave in a hover ship and forces the ship to crash.
Killgrave is seemingly killed.

While Black Widow tricks Electro into battling her near lightning rods and has his power drained, knocking him out!

"THE INVISIBLE GIRL FIGHTS ALONE FOR THE LIFE OF HER SON!"

Here's the awesome cover art to Fantastic Four No. 245 (Cover Date: August 1982) by JOHN BYRNE.

"CHILDHOOD'S END."
Creative Team: John Byrne, Bob Sharen, Jim Novak, Lance Tooks & Jim Salicrup.

In this issue, Susan Richards is being interviewed on the television program "Woman to Woman" hosted by Barbara Walker.

Right off the top, Walker begins to irk Susan by referring to her by her maiden name.
When Sue corrects Walker, the newswoman suggests that the belief that Sue is accepting the "subservient role" to her husband Reed.

Sue corrects her by saying that she loves her husband and that it was her choice to take his last name when they got married.

Barbara continues her interview showing an early photo of the Fantastic Four prior to their rocket flight, and footage of it's take off an internal cameras during the cosmic ray storm that gave them their powers.

After going over the powers of the other members of the Fantastic Four, Barbara asks if Sue feel's her own powers are overshadowed by the others.
Sue shows the contrary opinion by using her invisibility powers to create a column that lifts Barbara high above the stage.

Soon after the interview is ended and Barbara expresses her regrets that Sue couldn't be "completely open" with them.

Sue resigns to the fact that she could not convince Walker of anything and takes a cab back to the Baxter Building.

When she gets into the main lobby, she is shocked to find that her solenoid belt buckle is not calling the elevator to the main floor.

Suspecting trouble, Sue uses her powers to lift herself up to the top floors of the Baxter Building. Fearing that they have been vulnerable while Reed has been busy reconstructing the top floors of the Baxter Building, Sue frantically searches for her teammates.

Susan comes across the unconscious body of Reed. She's relieved that he is still alive but she believes that his mind has somehow been shut down. Further down the hall she finds the Thing in the same condition.

Turning invisible, Sue then searches their headquarters further. In on the of the rooms, she finds Johnny being restrained by a strange man with long hair and a beard wearing nothing but rags.

The man rants about finding answers and tries to probe Johnny's mind. Not finding what he is looking for, the man also shuts down Johnny's mind and tosses him aside.
