Artists Find A New Way To Monetize Their Art And Build An Engaging Community For The Future
Artists had a tough go making ends meet before the pandemic hit, though as COVID ravaged the economy, one of the first job sectors to get cut were employment opportunities for artists, especially those in the performing arts. From musicians to dancers, actors and painters to writers and set designers, the work literally vanished overnight. Binding contracts were canceled with no possible legal recourse, theatrical productions closed, films stalled half finished, and artists found it difficult to turn their gig livelihood into an unemployment check as creative prospects disappeared. In addition, due to the loss of work and high rent, artists have been fleeing the major cities in droves, seeking cheaper rent in a different states or often moving back in with family. And while free online Facebook concerts for friends and family proved novel and even inspiring early on in the pandemic, these methods did not bring in meaningful income to financially sustain artists who have dedicated their lives to their art form.
Enter: CreativNoodle.com
In June 2020, Larry Edoff, and Sam Somashekar revived a creative brainchild they’d formed in the past: To revolutionize the way artists connect, collaborate, and monetize their work. Now, more than ever, artists need a platform to hone their craft, find creative peers, and to turn their artistic vision into not only realized works of art, though also into a means to pay the rent. Creativnoodle.com is the first exciting step of a much larger vision to offer artists of all mediums a platform to earn income for their work, share their work with an engaged community of peers, receive online promotion, and in the near future in the second phase of CreativNoodle.com, the public will be able to view online performance spaces and “stroll” online art galleries to view, experience, support, and purchase the work of today’s artists. Edoff and Somashakar created a desperately needed “path of possibility” for the music and art world, from musicians, actors and dancers, to painters and playwrights, to move forward into a new digital world.
This first step starts with creativnoodle’s artist-run moderator competition rooms, created by and run by today’s artists, where the top artist entry earns the Creativnoodle monetary prize. To be very clear, this is not a talent show, however, talent will definitely find an online space to fully shine on CreativNoodle.com. Here’s how it works:
1) CreativNoodle Performance Rooms offer a specific artistic challenge created by the Performance Room Moderator. Future moderators will include industry and artistic greats in each creative field.
2) The Moderator offers the Performance Room CHALLENGE. Artists interested in this challenge will create and upload their work in the Performance Room, paying a minimal entry fee. The CHALLENGE encourages the Artist to either create new work or to perform work in a way that is “inspired by,” though outside the box, keeping the artistic mind fresh and supple.
3) After the Performance Room CLOSE DATE, the Moderator reviews all entries, and selects the top three artistic entries. The Moderator offers meaningful feedback to the top three artists and the top artist in the Challenge wins the monetary prize.
Because CreativNoodle knows that creating meaningful art needs more than just a platform to post work, to assist in growing the artist’s audience, CreativNoodle will actively promote and offer additional marketing tools to CreativNoodle users. For additional exposure to a wider audience, award winners are placed in the CreativNoodle monthly Festivals, open to the public.
CreativNoodle has the potential to hold thousands of Performance Rooms simultaneously. Here are a few SAMPLE PERFORMANCE ROOMS so you get the idea:
