Sew a little. Help a lot.

Join us Tuesday, September 29 for Sew for Good as we partner with Sew Good Goods to make laundry bags for People’s Laundry, a volunteer-run organization providing laundry assistance to neighbors without permanent shelter.

In just two hours, you can help create something practical that will make someone’s day a little easier.

And you don’t need to be an experienced sewist to participate! If you can thread your machine and sew a straight line, you can make a bag. Not a sewist? We’d still love to have you. There will be ways to help with ironing and threading drawstrings, too.

All willing hands are welcome.

Do you know your fairy tales? Rachel certainly does!

Earlier this year, Rachel and Amanda committed to hand stitching for just 15 minutes a day as part of a 100 Days Stitch Challenge. They chose Fairy Tales as their theme, and Rachel turned all that beautiful stitching into an incredible cloth book.

We loved watching her progress month after month at our Friday Sewing Socials, and now there’s even more to celebrate: Rachel’s Fairy Tale book won First Prize at the State Fair!

Congratulations, Rachel! What a wonderful reminder of what a little creative time each day can become.

Fall sewing is calling! 🍂🧵

Our new printed Japanese corduroys have arrived, and these four prints are making it very hard to pick a favorite! Soft, lightweight, and beautifully textured, they’re just right for adding a little something special to your autumn sewing plans.

A little peek Behind the Seams at Sew Inviting! 🧵

This past Saturday, the Material Girls Garment Sewing Group gathered at the shop for a morning of sewing, sharing, learning, and plenty of garment talk.

One of our favorite things about gatherings like this is seeing what everyone is working on, exchanging ideas and tips, and simply spending time with people who understand the joy of making your own clothes.

Whether you’re working through a fitting challenge, trying a new pattern, or just looking for people who get excited about fabric and sewing too, there’s something special about creating in community.

A little State Fair inspiration for your feed! ✨

Our quilting teacher, Ellen, brought home fourth prize for this fantastic multi-plaid flannel shirt, and we can absolutely see why.

We love the way she combined different plaids and fabrics to create a shirt that feels completely unique. Such a fun reminder that mixing prints, colors, and textures can lead to something truly special.
