Tonight was magic. Like, actually magic. 🥹🕯️

Every bite was eaten. Cups and cups of tea were poured. People asked questions about The Briar & Lantern, when we’re opening, what we’ll serve, whether we’ll have afternoon tea… and were just genuinely excited about this little place we’re building.

And I’m sitting here now with approximately 1,000 dishes and boxes scattered across my house, my back hurts, and somehow I just feel incredibly blessed that I get to do this. 😂🤍

To every single person who sat around our first Founding Tea table tonight, thank you. Thank you for coming, for trusting me to feed you 😂, for being excited with us, and for helping us take another step toward The Briar & Lantern.

Tonight was really, really special.

One last sip of summer. ☀️🫖

This weekend is your last chance to catch our summer menu at Inklings before the tea table gets its fall glow-up. 🍂

A few favorites are staying, a few are clocking out for the season, and some very cozy new flavors are getting ready to move in.

And because the Tea Table always gets the good stuff first… 👀

Today’s the day. 🕯️

Tonight we close the two Founding Series options for The Briar & Lantern.

$150 — Founding Series Pass
All three Founding High Teas.

$200 — Founding Supporter
All three High Teas + Founding Supporter extras.

After tonight, both options are gone. Individual tickets for remaining seats will continue to be available.

Apparently before we open a tea house, we should probably make sure Channon knows how High Tea works. 😂

Results were…mixed.

Thankfully, I am the one planning the actual teas. 🫖

And speaking of those teas, tomorrow is the last day to grab one of our Founding Series options.

Come to all three Founding High Teas for $150, or join us as a $200 Founding Supporter with all three teas + the supporter extras.

After tomorrow night, those options disappear and we’ll only have individual tea tickets available.

So come for the tea, the food, the mismatched china and apparently whatever Channon thinks proper tea etiquette looks like. 😂

It’s been a little over a week since we told you about The Briar & Lantern, and I’m still a little blown away by the response.

We knew WE wanted this. 😂 We’ve talked about it, dreamed about it, planned it and probably driven each other slightly crazy over it.

What I wasn’t prepared for was finding out how many of you wanted it too.

People we don’t know sharing our posts. Hundreds of new people following along. Messages from people saying they’ve been waiting for something like this. And I even found out that a local book club group chat was talking about how excited they were. 🥹

That part has been really special.

There is still a LOT between an empty pink-striped room and an actual tea house. Trust me, I spent seven hours in the kitchen today and haven’t touched the room. 😂

But knowing there are already people waiting on the other side makes building it feel even more exciting.

We’re really glad you’re here this early. 🤍

Okay, I realized I may not have explained this part very well. 😂

The Founding Tea Series isn’t just a fundraiser. These are three full High Teas. Three completely different themes, menus, teas and experiences, and every ticket helps us build The Briar & Lantern. 🫖🕯️

Through Wednesday, you can still join us for all three teas for $150, or choose the $200 Founding Supporter option, which includes all three teas plus the supporter extras.

After Wednesday, those two options disappear and we’ll only have individual tea tickets available.

So if you’ve been thinking about doing the whole series, this is just me making sure you don’t accidentally miss it. 🤍

Starting a new little series because apparently I cannot read a good book without a good cup of tea ☁️📚

This week I’m reading Iron Flame from the Fourth Wing series, so obviously I needed something strong.

Dragons, battles, fighting, emotional damage… it called for a black tea.

But I chose one with vanilla because what is a good book without a little romance in it? Hello?

And then I picked this teacup because the little filigree details reminded me of dragon scales - the way they curve and twist just felt very dragon-y to me. It’s delicate, but still has a strong feel to it, which honestly fits the book and the main character so well.

So this week’s pairing:
Iron Flame + vanilla black tea 🐉☕️

Lately I’ve been thinking a lot about creating slower, cozier, more intentional experiences.

The kind you remember.

Tea beside stacks of books.
Treat boxes shared with friends.
Beautiful afternoons tucked into little local spaces.

Over the last few months, some of my favorite moments have happened during my bookshop pop-ups. And after seeing so many of you come from those events into my teas and little tea world… I’ve decided to lean into that even more this season 💛

So while some things are shifting behind the scenes, I’m really excited for what’s ahead.

And yes - I’ll officially be back at Inklings May 23 & 24 with tea + treat boxes, cookies, teas, and probably a few surprises.

I have a feeling this is becoming something really special.

I completely forgot to share these little whimsical cookies from a recent bookshop event 💛

Tiny magical things honestly might be my favorite things to create.

Lately I’ve found myself really drawn to softer, storybook-inspired spaces and events — books, tea, nostalgic little details, cozy corners, all of it.

And I think that’s becoming more and more part of this little world I’m building here.

Anyway… these made me ridiculously happy to decorate.
