In addition to supporting our varsity football team on Friday nights, our band adds to school spirit during schoolwide and community events. Our band program provides students with a quality experience in the performing arts, opportunities to develop leadership skills, and a chance to belong to a marching band - one of the great American traditions!
The Sound Of The Dragon Band is rooted in tradition and rising in excellence. During the 2025-26 school year, our marching band earned 1st Place at two marching band competitions, our solo and ensemble students earned multiple Superior ratings at both the district and state level, and our concert band was selected through a taped audition to perform in front of thousands at Universal Orlando’s CityWalk stage.
For the third year in a row our band will grow in size and we 'd love to have you on our team! Your sponsorship will help us to fund school bus transportation to football games, local parades, and regional band festivals and competitions, to purchase new instruments and equipment, to pay for greatly needed upgrades to existing instruments and equipment, and much, much more. Like other school activities, we are responsible for raising all of the funds needed to cover our expenses through student participation fees, fundraisers, and the help of local sponsors. Every sponsorship we receive truly makes a difference.
Sponsors of The Sound Of The Dragon Band are making an investment in the future of Lake Placid! Our marching band members excel not only in music and performance but also in academics, leadership, and service to the school and community. Together with the support of our sponsors and the community, we are building something special for these students and creating opportunities that will impact them for a lifetime.
Sponsorship levels begin at $75 and continue to our Band Legacy sponsor level for those who desire maximum visibility. This year we are excited to offer a new benefit to our 2 highest sponsor levels: a dedicated, individualized banner with your business name and logo that will be displayed where the band performs in the stands at home football games (See the attached form for more information). Additionally, our 2 highest sponsor levels will have their business logo displayed on the back of our band trailer. In the past two years our band trailer has traveled along with the band to performances in (and through) the following counties: Highlands, Polk, Hendry, DeSoto, Hardee, Collier, Okeechobee, Martin, St. Lucie, Indian River, Manatee, Hillsborough(Tampa), Osceola, and Orange(Orlando).
