Brilla Fernbright Words are my solace…
Poetry is my catharsis, turning sorrow and strife into something I can understand. Will you listen?

These fragments of my soul, once whispered to shadows, now yearn to be shared.

Relief (written before the storms ironically)

I pass by a maple tree
as I go walking by…
my brow sweat & glistening.
an anomaly i spy -
one single red leaf
crimson and Shivering.
I realize that the trees
Are also begging for relief
From this unrelenting heat.

it starts
The darkening
The quickening of night
the Shortening of days
I used to dread the changing hours
And seek the sun like a yellow sunflower
Until I learned to play in the shadows.

Outlaw Storm

the storm curls in
rolling with silent danger
A dark stranger riding into town
their violence simmering underneath
the mystery - a cocked gun.
This summer storms a killer
it drowns the sky
and sweeps away the world.
but first… the storm silently curls
churning intentions to kill.

sky tides

The tide is high in the sky
Whitecaps, peak, and reach
Barrels curl into the blue
their frothy crashing reveals a hue
The scarlett glow of a ride tide.
Red reminds us what’s inside.
It marks beginnings, but endings too
This morning sky of red and blue.

the trees know

Something comes this way
the trees know but will not say.
listen to them creak and sway…
something comes this way.

Life is Change
The cool darkness of night must yield to the shining glory of Day.
Ginger battles periwinkle ombré
contrails of grey streak across in play.
Though it is beautiful, it is change.

Storm clouds, dark, and threatening, cover the sky
this change destroys silence - life.
Lightning strikes in the flash of an eye
Storm winds howl, and batter within
Life has changed - yet again.

We’re All Breaking

we’re all breaking…
Some more broken
more progressed
more obvious.
but nonetheless
we’re all breaking
and
begging to be saved
begging for more
when what we really need
is less.
