Saw Joker 2 last night and finally sat with my thoughts on it! 🃏

I liked it but I didn’t love it as much as I wish I could. Gaga and Joaquin were amazing and I really loved their performances. I loved the music and that it was a musical at all. That direction worked for me and I think it was gutsy to take it in that direction.

But as whole the film was lackluster. It cut a lot of scenes that was used to promote the movie. It didn’t use Gaga to her potential. And at this point we know she’s fully capable of playing a psychotic killer — see House of Gucci and AHS Hotel. We know she has the range as an actor.

I really wish they let her be free creatively or at least included the scenes that involved her acting that way.
I wanted more. I guess the review on the next slide calls me out with that. But as a Harley fan, and with a Joker movie, I expected more extravagant scenes and Harley and Joker wreaking havoc.

All and all I still plan to rep Gaga as Harley because I love them both! I love Margot as her too. Harley is one of my favorite fictional characters ever. I appreciate both of their takes on her. And you bet your ass I’ll be listening to Gaga’s Harlequin album through and through like I have been. Her voice sounds better than ever!! 🫶🏻🎶
