We’re so excited and grateful to be part of the revitalization of downtown LaFayette and the historic Mars Theater! ✨
Our regular hours are Wednesday–Saturday, 10 AM–5 PM, and we stay open later during theater events—perfect for stopping in before a show.
You’ll find us upstairs at the Mars Theater. You can get to the gallery by:
• Using the single front door to the left of the main entrance
• Entering through the ramp in the back of the building
• Or, when the theater is open, coming up through the lobby
We’d love for you to stop in and say hello!
One of the ways the Downtown Development Authority has made the Mars Theater a viable, long-term project is by dividing the building into two distinct spaces—an upper and lower venue.
In 2025, the DDA issued a Request for Proposals (RFP) seeking an arts-based retail concept for the upper floor. Several strong applications were received, ultimately leading to the creation of The Gallery at Mars.
While the area surrounding the theater has often been referred to as the “Mars Theater District,” what’s taking shape is something broader—an emerging arts district for downtown LaFayette.
The Gallery at Mars is the working gallery and studio of local artist Boyd Greene, whose pieces capture the landscapes of our region in a way that feels both familiar and striking. In addition to his own work, the gallery features a curated selection of pieces from artists across the region, expanding both the reach and the impact of the space.
More than just a retail gallery, it’s helping build a stronger creative community and marking the beginning of something bigger—an arts district taking shape in downtown LaFayette.

We’ve spent the past few weeks detailing the progress made by the City and the partners we’ve worked alongside—but we also recognize that so much of what moves LaFayette forward happens beyond what can be fully captured here. Every investment, improvement, and effort by local businesses, organizations, and individuals plays a role in shaping the community we’re becoming.
We’re grateful to the Downtown Development Authority for the role they’ve played in that progress, and to the many others contributing along the way—this is work that happens together.
With that, we’re closing out our look back at 2025. Tomorrow, we turn our focus to what’s ahead for this year.
