🧶 Summer Camp Alert: Crochet Buddy Bootcamp at The Strand!
Looking for a creative and engaging summer activity for your kids? We are hosting a 5-day "Crochet Buddy Bootcamp: An Intro to Fiber Arts".
This week-long adventure is perfect for absolute beginners ages 10 and up, transforming them from total newbies into proud creators of their very own custom amigurumi buddy. No prior experience is necessary, as instructors will guide campers through everything from learning basic stitches to crafting a 3-D friend.
CAMP DETAILS
Dates: Monday, June 15th – Friday, June 19th.�
Time: 1:00 PM – 5:00 PM daily (great for accommodating working parents' afternoon schedules).�
Tuition: $150 for a single camper.�
WHAT THEY'LL LEARN
Over the five afternoons, campers will dive into the absolute basics of textile arts.
Day 1: Get a feel for yarn tension, choose a hook, and learn basic stitches with a flat project like a coaster.�
Day 2: Learn hand-sewing and embroidery skills to create a felt patch and securely assemble their buddy's limbs.�
Day 3: Master the "Magic Circle," the foundational stitch of amigurumi and 3-D crochet.�
Days 4 & 5: The Grand Assembly! Campers put all their new skills together to complete their amigurumi buddy.�
All-Inclusive Perks
The bootcamp is designed to be hassle-free for parents. Tuition includes daily refreshments and all premium materials, including yarn, hooks, needles, safety eyes, and stuffing.

Strands of Hope Sip and Stitch
When: June 16 from 4:00pm to 7:00pm
What: Come enjoy pizza and crafting with some of the coolest folks in the community. In case you missed it, Strands of Hope is a partnership we developed with Valley Oaks to bring handcrafted hats, gloves, scarves, and other warm outerwear to our neighbors experiencing homelessness.
Don't miss out on your chance to connect with others and lend a helping hand. Bring your own yarn, tools, and patterns, or use some of ours. See you there!

What I'm Crocheting This Week 🧶
If you know me, you might know I has a serious obsession with handbags! I've always been on the hunt for unique, one-of-a-kind, quirky, arty bags to add to my personal collection. Now, I'm channeling that passion into my own creations.
This week, I'm putting the finishing touches on a beautiful new purse crafted from chunky t-shirt yarn, featuring a super cute, dark wood boat-shaped handle.
Want to make it yours? This stylish new purse will be up for grabs at our Lafayette Farmers Market booth this weekend, alongside a whole collection of other handmade bags, totes, and pouches she has been working on.
