2022 Holiday Market is here!
Please join us on December 3/4, 10/11 and the 17/18 when the Lafayette Jockey Lot will celebrate CHRISTMAS 2022! This year the HOLIDAY MARKET has been extended to three (3) weekends! Children will be able to visit with Santa for the donation of one (1) non-perishable food item or one (1) toy for the Louisiana Youth Toy Drive donation (even without, no child will be turned away), they will receive a free photo with SANTA, Holiday Cookie, candy cane and a cup of creamy hot chocolate. There will be FREE Gift Wrapping, Hot Chocolate, Food Specials, Bar Specials and always Fun for the Whole Family! Please help us to make this year’s Holiday Market a successful one for all!

Please join the Lafayette Jockey Lot throughout the month of July in honoring our Veteran’s and First Responders. In appreciation of their service, the Jockey Lot would like to offer any Veteran or First Responder a free booth in July. Any group supporting these individuals is also eligible for a booth space to promote their veteran’s organization.
Free Coffee and Donuts will also be available at the information desk each Saturday morning. Please join us in encouraging any Veteran or First Responder to participate!

Spring will be here before you know it and so will the Annual Lafayette Jockey Lot Garage Sale! This year‘s Garage Sale is scheduled to take place on March 19th from the hours of 8 AM to 5 PM. Spaces can be reserved for the bargain price of just $10 (per space) with participants supplying their own tables. Sign up soon - Spaces are limited!
In our continued effort to give back to the community, the Lafayette Jockey Lot will once again donate all booth registration fees to a local charity. Joining us this year as a charity participant will be the Acadiana Veteran Alliance. Join us on March 19th and help us support this local organization – and make some $$$ in the process!

Beginning on August 21st the Lafayette Jockey Lot will offer FREE Covid Testing from the hours of 7:00am - 4:00pm each Saturday and Sunday. This testing is completely FREE and is either by appointment or walk-up.

The Jockey Lot is partnering with the Lourdes Blood Donor Center to host a blood drive at the Jockey Lot on Saturday August 21st from 8am – 12pm. What makes this blood drive special is that it’s in support of a Jockey Lot employee who was injured back in May. Lourdes has a program where blood donations can be made in a patient’s name and a credit is applied to that patient’s out of pocket expenses. We invite the public to come see us tomorrow at the Jockey Lot. Come check out what the vendors have and donate blood while you are there to help Mr. Paul and help our community as our blood supply is very low at this time.

It’s just about time for the Jockey Lot Spring Easter Egg Hunt. On Saturday April 3rd, children 12 and under will enjoy a hunt for eggs, prizes and a free hotdog. One lucky child from each age group will even win a bike! The fun starts at 9:00am and runs until 1:00pm. Photos with the Easter Bunny and Face Painting is also available! OPEN MAY 23rd! Come and enjoy a day outdoors on May 23rd at the Lafayette Jockey Lot! There will be free Hot Dogs, LIVE Music, new vendors and an array of food carts. You will notice some changes have occurred in order to comply with the Louisiana Open Safely requirements. Proactive measures such as outdoor shopping, hand sanitizing stations throughout the market, additional cleaning staff, sanitizing, wearing of face masks and social distancing are only a few of the precautions being taken to ensure that our Vendors, Customers and Employees experience a positive shopping experience. We would like to thank everyone for their patience and understanding during these past weeks. See you at the Jockey Lot!

Due to current Federal and State recommendations, our updated scheduled re-open date is Saturday, May 2nd. At Lafayette Jockey Lot, the health and well-being of our Customers, Vendors and Employees are our top priority. Given the evolving concerns around COVID-19 and to help support community health management efforts, we will temporarily suspend operations beginning March 18th and will open our doors on April 13th subject to public health conditions at that time. We will monitor the developments of the COVID 19 virus as recommended by the CDC and State and Local officials.

Our Easter Egg Hunter scheduled for April 12th as well as our May 2nd Derby Days Event has been cancelled. If you are a Vendor and have questions or concerns regarding your booth status, please contact the Lafayette Jockey Lot at (337) 236-3532 and we will be happy to answer any questions you may have.

COVID – 19 Update:

Nothing is more important to us here at the Lafayette Jockey Lot than the health and safety of our Vendors and Customers. As we continue to monitor the recent developments of the COVID -19 virus, pursuant to The State of Louisiana, Executive Department; Proclamation Number JBE 2020-27 issued by the Governor of Louisiana, the Lafayette Jockey Lot will remain open during scheduled business hours.

Per Section 1 of the Proclamation dated March 13, 2020; as it pertains to the cancelling or postponement of gathering of more than 250 people:

“It does not apply to normal operations at locations like airports, medical facilities, shopping centers or malls, office buildings, factories or manufacturing facilities, or grocery or department stores. “

Operating as an Open-Air Market, the Lafayette Jockey Lot has implemented several proactive measures to ensure our Vendors and Customers health and safety during this time of concern. Hand sanitizing stations have been installed throughout the market, additional cleaning employees have been staffed and additional hours of scheduled cleaning have been implemented. These measures along with your assistance of items such as thoroughly washing of hands, remaining home when ill and avoiding contact with unsanitary surfaces will benefit all concerned.

We will continue to monitor developments of the COVID -19 virus as recommended by the CDC and State and Local officials as we remain open.
