Oh my goodness, what a night last night! My film, Sugar in Their Blood, was screened before a sold-out house at the https://cinemaonthebayou.com film festival in Lafayette. The best part was that my subjects, the Judice family of farmers, were in attendance. Super gratifying and worth all of the work. You can watch the film online through this weekend on the festival’s website:

DAY EIGHT of the 8-day annual COTB 2023 international film festival has arrived, and the feature documentary ROOTS OF FIRE will close out the Festival, followed by a reception and music by T'Monde!!!

Day Seven, known as "Louisiana Day," was a blast, with Louisiana filmmakers screening their films to sold-out audiences. The Lafayette Parish Bicentennial sponsored a reception following the screening of the last film of the day, SUGAR IN THEIR BLOOD, with music by John, Jane and Joe Vidrine. Thank you to all who came out throughout the day to support our Louisiana filmmakers. For those who missed SUGAR IN THEIR BLOOD because it was a sold-out screening, the film is now available for viewing on-line.

Sugar in Their Blood Update: Apparently the screening of my sugarcane documentary at the Cinema on the Bayou film festival
next Tuesday in Lafayette has sold out. I’ll be looking for other opportunities to show the film in the area but in the meantime, it will be available to watch online through the film fest’s website beginning after the premier
Jan. 31 and running through the following weekend. It’s $10 to watch virtually; the proceeds go to support the Cinema on the Bayou, a worthy cause!
