Aureate Atelier is a new gilding studio based in the western suburbs of Chicago whose aesthetic could be described as “antique technique meets modern chic.” Using 23-karat gold leaf on meticulously prepared surfaces, the studio creates useful yet stunning accents for the home. Pieces include geometrically balanced and handcrafted gold and walnut boxes and bowls. Each organically applied gilded creation highlights the natural grain of the wood and the unique and beautiful shape of the object.
