Marya Barry is a director and entrepreneur with a passion for bringing opera to life in unique and meaningful ways. Originally from DeBary, Florida, she earned her Bachelor of Music from Stetson University in 2014 and her Master of Music in Voice Performance from the University of Tennessee in 2017.

Her love for opera took her abroad to train in young artist programs such as the Varna International Opera Academy in Bulgaria and Oberlin in Italy. She also developed her skills in opera directing under the mentorship of James Marvel.

Marya has directed several productions with Marble City Opera, including the U.S. premieres of The Nero Monologues(2018) and City of Ashes (2019). She has also led site-specific performances of Tosca (2021) and Il Tabarro (2024), as well as George Lam's Heartbreak Express. Most recently, she directed The Human Voice.
In addition to her work in opera, Marya is the owner of Little Valley Play Cafe, a space where creativity and play come together for young children.

She is excited to collaborate with Kathryn Frady as co-director of The Tragedy of Carmen and looks forward to bringing this powerful and intimate retelling to audiences.

Maestro Andy Anderson has emerged as a prominent and versatile conductor in opera and musical theater, praised for his “solid musical support from the podium” (The Sondheim Review) and his “fluidity, control, musicality, and palpable sympathy with the singers” (Kansas City Star). Known for a repertoire that spans from Sondheim to Wagner, Anderson brings a collaborative, singer-focused approach that has earned him recognition for both expressive nuance and stylistic command.
Based in New York, Anderson currently serves as Music Director, Principal Conductor, and Company Manager of Opera Idaho. His recent work with the company includes Thaïs, Sweeney Todd, Roméo et Juliette, Suor Angelica/Gianni Schicchi, and La traviata, as well as the widely attended Opera in the Park series. His upcoming engagements (26/27 Season) with Opera Idaho include Die Entführung aus dem Serail, Pagliacci and La bohème.

A sought-after guest conductor, Anderson’s recent and upcoming engagements include Madama Butterfly (Anchorage Opera), Pagliacci (Marble City Opera), L’amico Fritz (Teatro Grattacielo debut), and Un ballo in maschera (Winter Opera St. Louis). His 2026/2027 season also includes La tragédie de Carmen with Marble City Opera and summer performances in Mercatello sul Metauro, Italy, conducting Così fan tutte and Don Pasquale. He will also make debut appearances with Opera in the Heights (Tosca) and the Tulsa Symphony in the 2026–27 season.

Anderson has held numerous leadership positions, including Artistic and Music Director of Mobile Opera, Assistant Conductor with the Lyric Opera of Kansas City, and Artistic Director of the Civic Opera Theatre of Kansas City.
