LGBTQ+ human rights are the same as anyone else's. Treating the LGBTQ+ community as if they don't deserve to exist in our literature is extremely prejudice and wrong. Our public schools are for all American students; gay, straight, black, white, Christian, Muslim, etc.
For one, Christianity has no place in our schools anyway, the same way that Judaism or Islam have no place in our schools. This is to save YOU from religious persecution, so that schools can't be taken over by one religion or another. Freedom for ALL religions isn't denying you of your religious rights.
And there is literally nothing - N O T H I N G you can say out of YOUR Bible, that has anything to do with the human rights of these people. If your religion makes you feel entitled to hate a group of people, then that's your wicked, archaic belief for you to reevaluate in your own time, so keep YOUR HATE out of OUR schools. This is one for all, not all for one.
Members of the LGBTQ+ community go to our schools and this is no different than racism to POC in our schools. These aren't just people that you're hurting. They're kids.
The bill was introduced by Representative Bruce Griffey (R - District 75) and was placed on the Education Instruction subcommittee's calendar for March 30.
