MEET THE CREW❄️🧙‍♀️🚪🦁⚔️

Lucy Wright (DIRECTOR) has always had a home in the theatre. A graduate of Flagler College in St. Augustine, FL (Class of 2023) with a B.A. in Theatre Arts, focused in Stage Management and Direction, Lucy stage managed numerous productions there, including favorites The Old Man and The Old Moon and Cinderella. While there, she also directed a production of Every Brilliant Thing, as a senior project, and a production of The Rocky Horror Picture Show, as president of the theatre honors society.

Lucy began her journey with The WordPlayers in 2019 as an assistant stage manager for Bright Star and has since stage managed The Fantasticks, Hello, Dolly!, Footloose, King Lear, Fiddler on the Roof, Freaky Friday, and Walking Across Egypt. She made her WordPlayers’ directorial debut with Junie B. in Jingle Bells, Batman Smells in December 2024 and is looking forward to directing Hairspray with them this upcoming summer. (Come audition - info on our website!) She is also currently directing All Shook Up at West High School, set to take the stage this February. She recently joined the WordPlayers staff as their Production Coordinator, overseeing their five productions throughout the year.

She is endlessly grateful to The WordPlayers for their trust and to her friends and family for their constant support. She would also like to thank her late professor Paul Denayer—this show is dedicated to him, for teaching her to always believe in the impossible, and, of course, how to turn on a light board. Thank you for everything, Paul.
