with mixed emotions Erika & matteline write to say that Cygnet’s Way is going on extended rest through the new year.

After some times of challenge, we have come to see that we need space and time to care for the physical space, ourselves & to dream Cygnets Way’s next incarnation into being in a sustaining way.

This means is we will be ending the regular programming, yin yoga & tarot for 2025.

We hope to circle back with new programs, offerings and new dreams after this time of rest and renewal. 

In the meantime please know that has robust yoga programming including online plus at home options available through her gorgeous Hudson Studio, .

We are so greatful for all who participated and supported the Cygnets Way endeavor over the past seven years. It has been an imense joy to be in community with, to learn from you, and to grow togther.

On Sunday, July 20 from 1-4 PM

join artist Dana Variano (felttipfeelings) at the patio outside of Cygnet’s Way for a free zine-making workshop based on their Cartography of Coping series!  

Brought to you by a generous grant from this workshop is a free and safe space for you to explore your anxiety and mental health coping skills through the use of zines, markers, stamps, and more. We’ll work together to create fictional geographic maps of our favorite coping places – like Journal Cove, Fidget Falls, or Seltzer Lake – and use a variety of art supplies to decorate them. This event will be in collaboration with and will be outside in the community space at Cygnet’s Way/Lite Brite Neon.

This event is drop-in style: there’s no need to attend the entire block of time to participate. As a bonus, everyone will get an “coping through art kit,” with blank zines and art supplies, to continue your art and mental health journey after the workshop.

KN-95 masks will be provided at the event, but they are not required. The event will be outside at picnic tables under a covered tent.

NEXT THURSDAY: Please join us for the opening reception of “madder and madder and hotter and hotter,” a group exhibition co-organized by ***rart and . The show brings together artworks that cite, transmit, remix, and illuminate q***r, trans, and feminist lineages for an urgent now. The exhibition opens this Thursday, June 12th, with a public reception from 5:30–7 PM at the Ford Foundation Live Gallery at 💥⁣
​⁣
​The exhibition’s title comes from Audre Lorde’s daughter, who insisted on speech, knowing that censored or repressed language grows madder and hotter inside one’s body; the language on walls, here, glows. Offering balms, songs, chants, and signs, the works in this show mix the concrete qualities of words and sculpture with the ineffability of light. Together, they interpellate q***r subjects in a bright, warm shout ⚡⁣

​Artists in this exhibition include Chryssa, Demian DinéYazhi’, Erika DeVries, Lola Flash, Ja’Tovia Gary, Jeffrey Gibson, EJ Hill, Glenn Ligon, Nelson Santos, and Marie Watt, alongside selections from the Lite Brite Neon archive. Anchoring the show are three QA Artist Editions, commissioned annually to celebrate the work of contemporary artists in QA’s community while paying homage to the q***r trailblazers who came before them 💫⁣
