This Mother’s Day weekend, I experienced a peace that truly surpassed all of my understanding. 💙
From the moment we arrived in Boston until the time we boarded the plane to come home, it felt like Jarin smiled on us the entire weekend. There were moments that filled our hearts in ways I cannot fully explain. The love, the music, the conversations, the connections… it all felt so intentional.
I especially want to acknowledge Berklee College of Music and the Africana Studies Department (.g.price.iii)for embracing Jarin’s legacy with such care and love. Meeting so many incredible graduates reminded me that purpose continues to live on through people, community, and the impact we leave behind.
To the mothers who struggled through today carrying grief, I see you. Please know I am only sharing how I felt this year. Every year has not felt the same for me, and honestly we will have to see what next year brings. Grief changes. Love remains. Some years survival is the victory. This year, peace found me.
What I do know is that God has continued to walk beside me through every season of this journey. Even in the hardest moments, He has never left me without comfort, love, and reminders that I am not alone.
And to my husband, Darron, thank you for standing with me through every version of this journey. We are all in for each other, always.
Our hearts are full tonight.💙
If you’ve experienced unexpected peace while grieving a child, missing your mother, or simply carrying loss in any form, I’d love for you to share it with me tonight. 💙
