The SLS is a fun piece of ghost hunting equipment to work with. Back in the day we would take a lot of photos of known haunted locations and hope to get lucky. The SLS picks up on potential spirit activity. When detected, one can see where the ghost is as there will be a stick figure where there is no person. When this happens, a ghost enthusiast should take pictures in that area. Such is the case in this photo at The Artist House with Key West Ghost and Mysteries. We were playing with a plush Robert the Doll and something showed up on the SLS to the side of us. Someone took a photo and caught a bright Orb. If you look at the SLS photo you see a mapped out figure where there is not a person. It is in the same area of the Orb in the other photo. Sometimes, when a ghost makes an appearance, it can gather enough energy to show its emotion. When this happens it appear with color. All the different colors do have meaning. Red is associated with restless, stress, anger, pain, or high energy. It is rare to capture a spirit in Key West in this nature. After all, everyone here is happy. As far as things that are iconic to Key West, I believe that this lil’ fella in my arms is near the top of the list. Right up there with roosters and Hemingway. This is at the Artist House. Ectoplasm is the residual energy left by recent heavy spirit activity in the area. We get this often by this building that was the original Dean-Lopez funeral home. It now serves as a beautiful guest house in a fantastically haunted area of town. Spirit activity comes to life at St. Paul’s graveyard with Key West Ghost and Mysteries in the form of Rods. In this form they appear as bright and thin steaks of light.
Strange and spirited action happens at Captain Tony’s with Key West Ghost and Mysteries. At the bottom center a ghost vaguely appears in apparition form. Just above that we capture streaks of light.
While it is “normal” for me to see Final Destination like photos of myself taken on the tour, this one with Key West Ghost and Mysteries is slightly different than the rest. After looking at it closely, I noticed that is not my face to the side of me. The face next to mine is not wearing glasses, my mouth is open as I am speaking and it’s mouth is closed, and it is also more tan with a more pronounced nose. It’s the ghost life, they walk with me.
One of my frequent questions from guests with Key West Ghost and Mysteries Tour is regarding whether or not the spirits will follow them home after a tour. The answer to that is in this video at the Hard Rock Cafe Key West. Watch as an Orb follows me out of the room like a puppy following the one it loves most. So the answer is, follow you? Probably not. Follow me? Most likely yes. It’s the ghost life and they walk with me. I thought it would be cool to snap a quick picture and give you a view of the tour from my eyes. The last thing I was expecting was to capture a ghost while doing so. Looks like I caught two as we use dowsing rods to communicate with spirits at St. Paul’s graveyard with Key West Ghost and Mysteries. The guest using the rods and myself have our backs to the graveyard and are facing the Key West Theater. Everyone else is facing the graveyard. And yes, this is the tour from my point of view.
As I tell the tale of Elena Hoyos and her suitor, Count Carl Von Cosel, we get extremely active Orb activity in the portal area of the tour. A while string of them shows up for us. While ghosts can and will show up anywhere, a portal increases the chances. A portal is a doorway between this world and the next. We get more activity on Rose Lane by Casa Antigua with Key West Ghost and Mysteries Tour while doing an energy test. Not only is there a warping of the air around the guests doing the energy test but there are also some heavy Rods producing a lot of energy with color. Rose Lane is a side street that was a good hideaway from the rum runners of Key West.
I could never overly stress the importance of fully investigating your pictures when ghost hunting. Whether you think you have nothing or, as is the case with this photo, have all ready captured a lot. This picture at St. Paul’s with Key West Ghost and Mysteries all ready has so much going on. There are multiple ectoplasmic streaks and a large half sphere of energy. It is a great catch. It would be easy to be satisfied with that and leave it there. However, after taking the time to zoom and fully look at the photo you will notice an apparition in the door. We are happy to announce that we will be resuming our ghost tours on Wednesday, June 3rd, at 9 pm. During June, we will be offering tours Wednesday through Sunday. Your health is very important to us, so you are required to wear a mask or face covering, as will your tour guide, and we will be social distancing. The tours will be much smaller, so with limited spaces available, it’s advisable to make your reservations early. We are excited that visitors are coming back to the island and we can’t wait to welcome you and see you on our ghost tours.
