Artsy Fartsy Art Lessons give children and adults alike a low cost opportunity to develop and expand their skills in drawing, painting, sewing and knitting. Artsy Fartsy offers small group artistic classes of up to 4 students for a many of the classes.. Bagrationoff, taught in public school for 11 years. She attended Florida International University for Fine Arts and graduated in 2002. Susan also
sells her creations on Etsy (Art by Lady Z) and can often be found spinning poi randomly aroubd Downtown Kent in the warmer months. Due to Covid 19, the studio is offering private lessons in the areas of drawing and painting for $35 for a 60 minute session. Due to Covid19, it is required for students to bring their own tools to class, which they receive on their first class at the studio. Growing up bright! These colorful dual technique mushroom painting projects are starting to grow at the studio. The vivid under paintings have been applied to the canvas. The loose/ blurry earthly backgrounds are our next focus. Outstanding progress, young artist!

The backgrounds have been created with a slightly blurry technique to elude to the movement of the birds. The colors of the feathers on these tiny beauties are beginning to be applied. Cheers! These ebony pencil tankard drawings were completed this week at the studio. The attention to details in the values of the metal create the dimensions of this type of mug. We used a hatch/crosshatch technique to create the texture of the wooden base. Beautiful work, young artist!

Growth spurt! These apple still life painting projects are ripening at the studio. The students from two different sessions are developing the velvety texture of the fabric. These artists are learning how to mix their colors/ values and then apply it to the canvas to create the softness of the cloth. Fantabulous progress, artists!
Basking in the sun! These dual technique water lily paintings were recently completed at the studio. The pond water was created using brush techniques. The brilliant yellow blooms were conjured using a palette knife. Gorgeous work, artist!
Color explosion! This "firework" palette knife painting project was completed this week at the studio. This is the third introductory palette knife project for this student before she begins to dive deep into the art style. Zoom in and check out the wicked texture that the student created. Cat loafin'! These Cubism cat painting projects were recently completed at the studio. These pieces were a Master's study of Picasso's Cat. Each student made some personalizations to their boxy felines. Well done, young artists!
Yesterday was day three of Kent Cornucopia Days and Mural No.3 was completed! We had several current and former students from my studio stop by and paint as well as many families from our community. The Sea Faire Pirates dropped in for a look, too! We also got some air time on Fox13 to highlight the local street faire. Thank you to everyone who contributed to this community mural project! đź’ś
Day two of Kent Cornucopia Days was a busy day of arting! Mural #2 for the Seattle-Tacoma Pet Cemetery was completed! We had a lot of help painting this mural by some of my art students, pet lovers and a state representative! We also had the pet parent of Henley, one of the beloved pets featured in Mural No. 3, stop in on his day off to paint the ears of the adorable French Bulldog. So many people in the Kent Community put their creative energy into Mural No.2.

Today was the first day of Kent Cornucopia Days and Mural #1 for the Seattle-Tacoma Pet Cemetery was completed! We had a lot of help painting this mural by many members from the community! We even had a City of Kent Council member assist in adding color to our project.

Light show! These Aurora Borealis inspired palette knife paintings were completed this week at the studio. My students and I were hoping to catch a glimpse of the celestial light show. Love the brilliant hues in these creations. Out of this world works, young artists!

This free painting opportunity will take place during Kent Cornucopia Days right in front of the studio.

Purrrrrfect! These cat palette knife painting projects were recently completed at the studio. The hues for Popcorn and Misty were carefully mixed and applied onto the canvas using palette knife techniques to create the fur-like texture. So proud of my student for taking her time to add the details on to her pet portrait. Outstanding work, young artist!
Got my eye on you! These Surrealism master studies were recently completed at the studio. These pieces were inspired by the masterpiece 'The False Mirror' created by Rene Margarite. My student did an excellent job with the mixing and application of the colors. Wicked work, artist!

It's all about the texture! These mossy palette knife painting projects are growing beautifully at the studio. Zoom in to check out the sort textures that are being carefully crafted using modeling paste and palette knife techniques. Excellent progress, young artist!

Swimming with the fish! These mixed media koi projects were completed this week at the studio. Thin layers of acrylic paint were used to create a smooth texture to pond-like background and the fish. Iridescent medium was used to give a sparkle to the scales. Oil pastels were blended on top of the paint to create the ripples.of the water's surface. Astonishing work, artist!
Making waves! These wave palette knife paintings were completed recently at the studio. This was the student's first time diving into this art style. Zoom in to check out the textures of the piece as well as how the colors blend on the canvas. Mesmerizing creation, young artist!
