On June 18th, 2026, Yazzie-Salt Cultural Center held their annual sheep butchering demonstration. We received good feedback from students and teachers. This event would not be possible without the generous donations of a sheep and a goat from Dr. James Nez, monetary donations from 4Directions Brotherhood to buy additional items needed, and the volunteers and school departments, that assisted the staff at Yazzie-Salt Cultural Center. It was another great success to provide Diné traditional food: roast mutton, fry bread, blue corn mush, and mutton dumpling stew. Thank you to everyone who assisted and attended.

Another successful frybread food demonstration with hands on learning. Students made their own dough and made their frybreads. Fresh batch and it looks delicious! Great job students!
