Laaaaaadies.
I'm enjoying these girls, soldering the little legs, thinking of all the beads as clothes (the middle on is in the coziest sweater I ever did imagine). They remind me of making clothes for paper dolls and Barbies as a kid.

Yet abstract, a practice of balancing proportion, and still seeing ourselves/myself in shapes and textures.
I got back and forth, is the Self something to be found? Or an obstacle? Or a tool for channeling? Something to express itself, or to express things beyond it?
I don't have a conclusion, but I find myself unconsciously looking for reflections. Is it me? Or is it me seeing?

And the frost is back. 😬❄️

And we have an interactive sculpture made from putty seal on a bathroom window. It's been evolving since last winter.

This bead mix really gets me going.
It's vibrant and funky up close, but muted (very demure) with some distance.
Simple on top, flair on the bottom.
Fringe always.

Excited to bring the fringe bbs to the Vday popup.
Come by and hang out.

Maybe just one more love post for these dangly beauts?
On their way to a new home.

Getting ready to vote early, and bracing myself for the results, mostly for action after - do you have plans? I'd love to hear them. I want to join in tangible action, but like us all, am trying to match my limits with my abilities.

Meanwhile, when I put my head down, I work. Reading essays (I've never been a fiction girl), making things, trying/learning new techniques, and I guess maintaining this website now. Doing repairs, caring for things, and trying to explain non-market values to everyone I meet at every moment.

Sometimes I take seriously all the people saying *this is not normal/this has never happened/this is unique* and sure, humans haven't been exposed to so much at such a rate historically, but it seems we are having the exact same reactions to everything we encounter - saying it's the end of the world/saying let them eat cake/saying kill them all/saying burn it down - mostly short sighted ideas. I want to look out farther and wider. Work for more than myself, work for more than an us, work for all.

I tell my students, "Us or them is a false dichotomy."

Testing out locations in the new house for photo'ing the jewels. The table I used to use doesn't get as good of light here (it's our regular dining table so doesn't move easily). These samples are available - haven't made that jig yet either - and I'm still super into them. These recycled glass beads are a big draw for me. I got a ton of them so plan on seeing more! I can also make these earrings in different colors if you want something custom. Just send me a dm for info/puchase! Cheers.
