You don't have to search any farther to learn how to draw your very own pet dragon...

Well... almost. 😄

This week's pet portrait features 🐲Beardie🐲, a wonderful pet bearded dragon submitted by Raysha!

Thank you so much, Raysha, for sharing Beardie with all of us. As I spent time drawing her, I felt like I got to know her personality a little better. She may be small, but she's clever, curious, and has that wise little look that makes you wonder what she's thinking!

One of my favorite parts of creating these pet portraits is hearing the stories behind each animal. Every pet has a unique personality, and it's such a joy to capture that through colored pencil.

I can't wait for you to join me as we draw Beardie together step by step. Whether you've never drawn a reptile before or you're a seasoned artist looking for a fun challenge, I think you're going to have a great time with this one.

We're kicking things off today with one of the most unexpected—and hilarious—subjects I've ever drawn... 🐓Laurie Powers’ pet chicken!🐓

Thank you, Laurie, for sharing your feathered friend with us! ❤️ I have to admit, I've never had a pet chicken, but this one had me smiling the entire time I was drawing. Between those curious eyes and that expressive beak, this little chicken has so much personality!

I can't wait to show you how to bring this charming character to life with colored pencils.

🐾 The Votes Are In... and the Pets Have Been Chosen!✏️🎉

First, ❤️thank you❤️to everyone who submitted photos of your amazing pets!

Every single submission was wonderful because each photo captured so much personality. It was such a joy getting to see all of your furry (and feathered!) friends, and I truly appreciate everyone who took the time to participate.

After looking through all of your photos, I have selected 🐱🐶five pets🐱🐶that we'll be learning to draw together in next week's ✏️How to Draw✏️YouTube tutorials!

If your pet wasn't chosen this time, don't worry! I've saved every photo that was submitted and will be coming back to them for future drawing lessons. There were simply too many great choices to fit into one week!

Today's drawing lesson is about two of the most important tools every artist needs to understand to create a believable landscape drawing:
