Wanted to let everyone know: this Friday’s art class will be our last for the year. Looking forward to the upcoming holiday season, we thought it best for us and hopefully many of you as well. Thanks for such a great year so far, and see you if you can make it Friday at 6!

We were so pleased to see so MANY of you just a week ago tonight! Super impressed with the enjoyment and finished pieces that came out of a more free-and-easy dive into watercolor (and a crash course in drawing buildings, using 1-point linear perspective). Bravo, and see you next week! By the way, these classes are going to be coming to a somewhat earlier end for the year than we anticipated...stay tuned. But once again, we WILL see you next Friday. Have a great weekend :)

Tomorrow: Ink + Watercolor (a project that's a bit less intense as far as demanding concentration, etc: should be fun!

Last time we learned about proportion! It was amazing to watch as our guests quickly picked up the art of accurately copying shapes (but bigger or smaller) such as a bird we did for practice together, then how they picked something new and did the same on their own. It was as inspiring as the quotes they selected to accompany the drawings. We have another class this Friday, more soon! Hope to see you there.

It’s time I update the page with pictures of our most recent class! We learned about linear
2-point perspective—such a helpful skill, and I admire all those who stuck with us to begin grasping it! It was one of our more technical classes to be sure, but next week is a more hands-on, “flexibly” fun project involving wire and beads… Hope you’ll join us this Friday at 6!

It’s great to be back up and running! Our last project was watercolor greeting cards using a fun liquid masking tool called miskit.

For those who asked, our injured instructor is doing tons better. (he was reminded how much he prefers this kind of painting, as opposed to the kind that requires ladders…)

Anyway, thanks to those who came out, and we hope to see more of everyone interested, every 2nd and 4th Friday for the rest of the year!

Next project: Food Art with spaghetti sauce and hummus. Just kidding. We will be learning a little bit about how to draw in perspective. 😁
