Legends Drum and Bugle Corps, Winter Percussion, and Indoor Cymbal Lines

The Legends Drum and Bugle Corps Cymbal Line started in December of 2007 in DCI Open Class. In 2011, the cymbal line placed 2nd in DCI Open Class Cymbal Ensemble I&E competition with a score of 94.7. In 2012 and 2013, the drum corps did not field a cymbal line. In 2014, the Legends DBC cymbal line was brought back to the ensemble. The 5 member cymbal line placed 2nd in I&E competition. ced 2nd in I&E in the following years, 2015 and 2016 with very positive reviews and successful performances. The Legends Winter Percussion Cymbal Line formed when the winter percussion program formed in 2011 and had 6 great seasons before the ensemble folded before the 2017 season.

Meet the 2019 Legends Cymbal Line:

Tra Fisher, 22, is from Oak Ridge, Tennessee. This is Tra’s age-out summer. His previous marching experience includes Southwind Drum and Bugle Corps, Battalion Drum and Bugle Corps, Audio Theatre, and this is his first season with Legends.

His favorite cymbal sound is a tap. Fun Fact: Tra has a visual solo/fight with a guard member during the second movement of the show!

Meet the 2019 Legends Cymbal Line:

Nick O’Neill, 19, is from Lexington, Kentucky and is studying Audio Engineering at Asbury University. His previous experience includes Tates Creek High School/Indoor Percussion Ensemble, Triple Crown Indoor Percussion, and he is in his second year with Legends Drum and Bugle Corps.

Nick has been Cymbal 4 for both this year and last year. His favorite sound is a crash choke. Fun Fact: His dad is British.

Meet the 2019 Legends Cymbal Line:

Nate Thorn, 19, is from Kalamazoo, Michigan and is a junior at Western Michigan University studying Aerospace Engineering. His previous marching experience includes Gull Lake High School, Western Michigan University Bronco Marching Band and this is his second year with Legends Drum and Bugle Corps.

Nate is Cymbal 2 and his favorite cymbal sound is a Zing. Fun Fact: Nate is a triplet!

Meet the 2019 Legends Cymbal Line:

Trisha Beauchemin, 21, is from Ypsilanti, Michigan and studies Music Therapy at Eastern Michigan University. Her previous marching experience includes L’anse Creuse High School, Eastern Michigan University Drumline, and Motor City Percussion. She is in her first year at Legends.

Trisha is Cymbal 5 and her favorite sound is a tap choke. Fun Fact: She used to be a ride operator at Cedar Point!

Meet the 2018 Legends Cymbal Line:

Thomas Ollier, 21, attends Northern Kentucky University studying Computer Science. He marches cymbals in the University of Cincinnati’s marching band. He marched cymbals at Tates Creek in 2017 and is in his second, and age out, season with Legends. His favorite cymbal sound is a punch.

Meet the Legends 2018 Cymbal Line:

Michael Killian, 21, is from Las Vegas, Nevada. He is in his rookout season with Legends. He marched cymbals at his high school, Foothill High School, for 4 years in the fall season and 3 winterline seasons; 2 years with Vegas Vanguard, and this past winter with Matrix Open. His favorite cymbal sound is a Ding/Bell Tap. Fun Fact: He moved to Ohio this past year to “do band” to march Matrix and Legends.
