We are a father (Chris) and son (Connor, 9) team from southwest Michigan who loves to do all things outdoors. Being creative together and sharing my passion of hunting/trapping with my son has been incredible! About four years ago we started trapping on our property and as beginner homesteaders we would try our best to make use of every part of any plant or animal we harvested. When trapping was b

ecoming quite successful for us, we decided to start making the classic Daniel Boone style coon hat. From there we have enjoyed the process so much and got many comments on our hats that we expanded our hat styles and fur selections. While we are still learning to do our own leathering, we are excited to share our passion for these amazing animals and their unique qualities. I finally got some finished and looking awesome! Been trying and trying with a bunch of different methods and finally found one that produces a great finished product! If anyone is looking for some tanned beaver tails or has some they want tanned let me know!

I have tried many many times to get these things to come out right and I am finally getting to a solid final product!
Last year I tanned some without taking the scales off. I also did some without degreasing them well. Lots of learning of this one! Super happy with the way they are coming out though!

The tanning never stops! I honestly never thought things would take off like they have. I’ve been busier with the tanning side than the wearables lately. Thank you to everyone who has entrusted me to tan your hides. I take it very seriously to ensure a great final product. I am continuing to study the tanning process to ensure that the tanning is soft and workable 🤘🏼
