Witnessing the beauty of God’s creation in Maui! These magnificent green sea turtles, also known as honu, are a true testament to His handiwork. They can live up to 80 years and migrate over 1,600 miles between their feeding grounds and nesting sites, guided by the stars and Earth’s magnetic fields. Near the coastlines these turtles play a vital role in maintaining the health of seagrass beds and coral reefs. From the deep blue ocean to the sandy shores of Maui, their journey is a testament to God’s wondrous and intricate handiwork. Let’s marvel at these gentle giants and give glory to God for the wonder and diversity of His creation!

Early morning sunrise over Haleakalā. Early mornings are the best. I am not a morning person by nature but over time, with effort and the encouragement from my lovely wife, find myself seeing more sunrises than before. It’s still, peaceful, and quiet. Before the hustle and bustle of modern living cranks its engine and sets out for errands and ambitions. Do yourself a favor… wake up early, get a seat on the porch or at a park and see the day begin. It’s even better with a hot cup of coffee ☕️.

This is one of my best photographs yet! I absolutely love the motion of the ocean, arch in the lava rock, tide pools, and sunset in the distance over the Pacific Ocean. On the right is the North section of Maui (the head) and on the left is the island of Lanai. This location was right next to the condo we rented which allowed a few attempts to capture it. I tried the first evening but clouds covered the sun. But day two at dusk it work out great.

We definitely are Better Together. In May this year we took the family to Maui to celebrate a lot. My wife’s birthday, my son becoming a teenager, my now an adult and graduated high school with her AS degree. A big trip for a big year. We did just about everything there was to do on the island and explored all around and in between. I take photos to capture what I can so I am able look back and remember. Remember the fun, the sounds, the sights, and the feeling we all shared on the island.

The Gunflint Trail. This road will take you from the Lake Superior coast and beautiful city of and bring you through the Superior National Forest; Minnesota’s Northeast Gem. This is the primary (if not only) area of Minnesota where you can spot Moose. We ventured down the road just as the Autumn colors began to show, the following week they were all over.

Amazing night skies on the Gunflint Trail. We specifically made a quick trip to the border of Canada to hopefully catch a glimpse of the aurora borealis. The first night was a bust with clouds all over. But the next night was supposed to be a big storm. We decided to stay up for the show and drive through the night back home. And we were not disappointed! It was our first time seeing them and they left me in aw and wonder of the Lord Almighty. He truly is a magnificent artist.

Baby Yuki. This curious “little” guy was enamored with us legged creatures floating near the surface. He wanted to play and would splash next to us which was exciting, but also made me aware of the strength of his power even as a calf of only a few weeks. At this time he had grown to ~9m/27 feet. We heard news that a week after we left Tubuai, Yuki and his mother made the long journey to Antarctica to feed on krill.

Baby Yuki. Such a curious “little” humpback whale calf that was enamored with us legged creatures. Yuki was ~27ft as a young calf only weeks old. The week after we left Tubuai, Yuki and his mother left the warm waters of French Polynesia and made the long journey to Antarctica where they feed on krill.
