Twin Raven Studio

Twin Raven Studio I am a Tlingit artist from Juneau, AK I am a Tlingit native of Juneau, Alaska and born in 1961. I concentrated on painting and minored in printmaking.

I was raised in Alaska, and successfully mined gold with my family from 1973- 1978. I moved to Colorado in 1978 and lived in Fort Collins for 26 years, where I started a family and achieved a Bachelor degree in Fine Art. I traveled to Italy in 2000 and fell in love with the countryside, art and architecture. I moved to Taos, New Mexico in 2006. I paint landscapes, architecture, Tlingit designs, a

nd portraits of native American children. The mediums I use are acrylics, watercolors, pastels, gold leaf, lithography and etching. I paint on paper, canvas, wooden vessels and furniture. I create functional art by using old or discarded wood furniture, painting scenes on them, which I call “FurnArture.” I also make Tlingit button blankets and robes out of trade wool and shell buttons. I hope to cultivate my career as an artist here in New Mexico where I am inspired by the culture, landscape, light, architecture and many talented artists who have also made “the land of enchantment” their home.
