When I am alone on cold winter nights under the stars; this is when I am inspired the most, when I see the heavens clearly shining down on the mountains and glacial landscapes that surround me. These foreign landscapes are where I feel the most alive.
To capture the feeling of the cool air, the grand scale and the lights shining down on the ice around you is impossible, but to me, this image does a good job at giving the feeling of being alive under the northern lights amidst the towering ice of the glacial seracs.

On top of another no name peak in the southern Saint Elias mountains. Here, all you can see is mountains that span every horizon and they humble you to the core.

Sometimes when I get back from the mountains, I look back at trip videos and photos and remember that these surreal places exist and these surreal places are where I feel the most comfortable and the most humbled. On the edge of the world, with a view of mountains all across the horizon. In this short video, we are in the South Saint Elias Mountains and Sierra is working her way along a summit ridge with spin drift blowing off the leeward side.

All journeys have a beginning but this one does not have an end. As I see more and learn more, I realize that the journey just keeps evolving, changing and getting better. This is the beginning of beautiful time-lapse saga of Iceland. Despite brutal wind and cold temperatures that are not conducive to any kind of photography, I managed to capture some of the most beautiful scenes that I have ever seen! The winter nights in Iceland are some of the most incredible I have experienced. From the endless horizons of glacier lakes, mountains and glaciers, to the endless horizons of the oceans that surround the island, the stars and aurora and the seemingly endless space make up for the long dark nights!
