Adding gel stain to a tan washed top.

Give me warmth. Give me depth. Give me all the gel stains!

I love how adding just the tiniest amount of this varathane gel stain took this wood top from meh to amazing! We didnt apply it regularly but instead just the tiniest bit to add that extra yumminess to that wood grain finish! What type of hardware do you prefer?

Do you like a piece to have a more modern k**b, the original/vintage one, or maybe something in between? I see a lot of furniture flippers replace the vintage pulls with something more modern, and I do love that. But something just pulls me back to those original pieces. If they are in good condition, I prefer cleaning them up and shining them up a bit and using them. I think I might have an old soul 🙃 What about you?

I do love a drawer liner❤️ Do you prefer your furniture drawers being lined or do you prefer just regular wood? I love lining, tbh. It just adds that little added pizzazz. I love opening a fresh dresser and seeing a pop of personality. Don't get me wrong, I think natural wood look is beautiful as well, but I think I just prefer ✨️whimsy✨️. What about you? Watch as we destroy this wood with paint .

Just kidding! Its just a paint wash! We used about 25% paint, 75% water. We used a sponge brush to quickly brush it on and then wiped it right back off. This technique helps to neutralize the orange and brighter tones in the wood so we have a more even base to add the stain on. Sometimes I don't even add any stain just a top coat to maintain that light wood look.
However this time, I used a darker gel stain and just applied a very thin amount to add a bit of richness and warmth back in while still controlling those orange tones that dated the wood.

Can you believe this transformation? From a gunky black dresser and nightstand to an updated gorgeous green and herringbone accent bedroom set!
Even tho the herringbone did try to 💀 me, I persevered and the end pieces are my favorite I've done! I love a matching set.

Somebody buy these before I keep them for myself.

Excited to list this piece and its coordinating night stand soon. This has been a long process from the beginning to the end and Ive learned so much. While it may not have ended up the way I had planned in my mind, I'm so proud of the job I did and how it turned out.

This gorgeous nightstand set is currently for sale! Solid wood construction in dual tone stain seal and coated for extra durability. Perfect for a rustic bedroom, cottage core living. Excellent storage space! These are heavy duty and so beautiful!
