Salted Earth Moves in collaboration with Fusion Performing Arts Academy, will be hosting a one-time only 2 part workshop by this amazing woman on Sunday April 24th. We are interested in dancers, movers, dance educators, choreographers and performers who would like to gain a deeper understanding of contact improvisation, somatic principles and choreography in their personal movement practice. Nita Little, Phd is at the forefront of contemporary dance and contact improvisation philosophies and approaches to choreography and we are excited to bring her to Jacksonville! More information on time, place and prices coming very soon! Discounts for professional dance educators, members of dance companies and dance students will be available :)

So happy to witness and be a part of this special gathering of community organized by IFA Temple of Elevation and Abundance and Nan Nkama African Dance Ensemble of Jacksonville FL who hosted Ade Olorun, Director and Founder of Oba Ashe Performance Ensemble (Austin, Texas) who graciously shared his experiences as a initiated drummer of the sacred bata drum of the Afrocuban folkloric tradition, and led a very informative workshop on the connection between the drum, songs and dance that left us hungry for more! What a wonderful opportunity this was to deepen our understanding of African Diasporic traditional arts!

Remembering this moment from Water Angels: A Movement Installation at the J Johnson Gallery. How blessed we were to transform and enliven the space with movement and dance this past December and January before this beautiful gallery closes in May. Be sure to check out this inspiring space and its last exhibits this next month before it closes it doors! We are sad but full of gratitude to have been a part of this gallery's history.
