After many months away from the wheel, we are back.

This is the first piece out of the kiln in a long time — a sturdy, textured mug that feels as grounding as it looks. The raw Hawaiian Red from lagunaclay and soft blue glaze are a reminder of why I started this in the first place: to slow down, make with my hands, and create something real.

Life got busy, and this creative outlet took a backseat. But I’ve missed it deeply. Hoping this mug is the beginning of many more pieces to come.

Thanks for sticking around — more soon.

I couldn’t be more excited with how this new mug turned out! It’s a completely different direction for me—my first time carving in to the wall of the mug itself—and I’m quite proud of how it came together. Creating pieces like this reminds me why I love the creative process—there’s always something new to explore and discover.

I’m beyond thrilled with how these turned out! I’ve been working toward this style of raw textures and layered depth for a while now, and it finally feels like it’s coming together. Excited to keep pushing the boundaries—more shapes, more patterns, more creativity ahead!

Hello, my name is Alex, and I am the artist behind ARClayWorks! For me, ceramics—and art in general—is an adventure in "process". It’s a journey of growth, discovery, and seeking beyond the obvious. It’s a choice to look beneath the surface.

I’m excited to share more of this journey with you! As I work on being more active here on social media, I’ll be giving you a behind-the-scenes look at my process, the inspiration behind my pieces, and the joy (and occasional mess!) of working with clay.

While I don’t have an online store just yet, I’d love to connect with you! If you see a piece you like, feel free to message me to inquire about availability. I’m happy to chat about custom orders or anything else you have in mind.

In the future, I hope to have a more formal web store set up, but for now, I’m focusing on creating and sharing my art with all of you. Thank you for being part of this adventure with me—your support means the world!

Keep Creating,

Alex

Nice night in the . Put a handle on a new “mug” … it’s so large I feel disingenuous calling it a mug. The second picture has a normal sized mug done by the great for scale. I also pulled out a bisqueware from the kiln and finished some detail work on my first carved mug ☕️. Placed that on the greenware shelf to get fired. I had some time left after that to get started on 4 new mugs that will hopefully become available at some point.

Warm sunny spring days ahead. This mug embodies that feeling. ☀️🌱

Simple round. Single glaze. Playing with the idea of neutrals on this one. I think it was a success.

Blue speckle over black. This actually a white river birch glaze over Black Engobe that turned out a beautiful speckled blue after firing. Love this little matcha bowl.
