A little over a year ago, Janay Goshay told me that a Groove Coalition EP was long overdue… 😂

Well, right then and there, I knew she was going to be the first voice I record! 🎶

And what better way to kick things off than with “Just Stay” — because this sister can SING! 🙌🏾🔥 Soulful, sultry, smooth… Janay brought all of it to this one.

There’s a lot of talk about whether they still make good new music.

So… instead of complaining about it, we decided to put our money where our mouth is. 😎

Enter: the Groove Coalition EP.

This project isn’t chasing sonic trends, algorithms, or whatever the cool kids are calling “the sound” this week.

The goal is much more ambitious:

Make NEW music that feels TIMELESS.

We wanted to create the kind of experience people had in the ’70s when they first heard Patrice Rushen, Ashford & Simpson, or Deniece Williams — that “Whoa… WHAT is this?!” feeling when something sounds fresh, exciting, soulful and completely different from everything else.

Our hope is that 50 years from now, somebody drops these tunes on a turntable, hits play, and says:

“Man… they were making some GOOD music back then.”

And technically, they’ll be right. 😉

We’re incredibly happy to finally share these tunes with you.
