Tomorrow- Tuesday 6/30
10am-12pm in Jackson

We’re excited to offer this preview session for those wanting to see what we are about before Summer & Fall enrollment starts! This is an all-ages session. Although we are trying to keep this session drop-in friendly, an email letting us know how many will be attending would be extremely helpful in ensuring we have enough supplies!

Our preview session is for all-ages and we will have a variety of activities.

This is a non-drop-off program where parents remain on site and children explore nature at their own pace through play, observation, and gentle guidance. Our program is child-led and parent-supported, with a strong focus on plants, animals, sensory exploration, and building empathy for the living world. Sessions are designed to be playful, respectful, and rooted in real ecology—where curiosity is encouraged and families learn together.

Nature Explorers (Ages 0–4)
A gentle, playful introduction to nature through:
• Sensory exploration
• Movement & play
• Early nature awareness

Wilderness Explorers (Ages 5+)
A deeper dive into the natural world with:
• Observation & inquiry
• Games & Crafts
• Wildlife awareness
• Ethical foraging education

Preview Session Tuition

● Nature Explorers (Ages 0-4): $20

● Wilderness Explorers (Ages 5+): $30

Younger Siblings Welcome

• Sibling on-site presence fee: $10

(Presence only — not program participation, Waiver required)

Scorpions are sensitive and misunderstood creatures. Pictured is our Emperor Scorpion, native to Africa.

While local species might be scary to find in your shoe or in your house, they are no more venomous than a bee sting.
The Sierra foothills are home to 3 species of scorpions: California Forest Scorpion, Maidu Scorpion & the Amador Burrowing Scorpion. Although these species generally reside in the Oak woodland and chaparral areas, they will take refuge in woodpiles, crawl spaces and garages. Thankfully they are fairly easy to find as all species of scorpions glow in blacklight!
