Brides of Nox – Dev Life Update

It's August 4th in Georgia and the high is 67 degrees. Meanwhile, I just caught eight hummingbirds in one frame, mid-feeder frenzy.

This is your official reminder that while Brides of Nox dev work is paused for a moment (thank you, syllabi and tiny nectar goblins), the creativity never really stops—it just sometimes involves winged interns and a lot of sugar water.

Stay tuned. Big things are coming... once I finish refilling the feeders. Again.

Development update time!

We’ve officially scripted 75% of Brides of Nox and finalized most of the core cast in DAZ Studio. Codex entries are in place, CGs are planned, and we’ve moved on to sprite expressions and CG rendering.

Today’s sneak peek? Kendra’s first meeting with Dima—her assigned noble sponsor. (Yes, he’s judging her outfit. No, he will not be changing his jacket.)

I took a short break over the 4th of July weekend—stepped away from Brides of Nox, played a little Disney Dreamlight Valley (okay, a lot), and wrote a new Medium article about neuroplasticity, AI, and how we’re constantly rewiring each other.

I had to step away from Brides of Nox for three days to attend an AI in Higher Ed workshop… but I didn’t go alone. I brought Nyx (my AI sidekick), and naturally, we caused a little chaos.

What started as a few notes turned into a four-part blog series featuring spicy ethics debates, universal income speculation, and even a pirate-themed botany joke. (Yes, really.)

Oh—and there are plenty of Brides of Nox references throughout. 😉

🛸 Five routes. One main path. 150+ pages of outlines. COMPLETE.

After months of late nights, worldbuilding chaos, and caffeine-fueled plot twists, all five love interest routes (plus the main branching storyline) for Brides of Nox are officially outlined.

That’s over 150 pages of alien politics, forbidden romances, intergalactic tension, and emotional decisions that might break your heart.

The next phase: scripting it all into the game, one scene at a time.

For now… I’m just taking a moment to breathe. And stare dramatically at the planet I’m about to conquer. 😌💫

🍼✨ Things that happen when you co-write a sci-fi visual novel with an AI assistant:

🧠 Nyx: “Maybe Eran’s mother suspected he wasn’t really hers…”

We almost spiraled into an embryo-implantation conspiracy subplot. Almost.
But sometimes the lore doesn’t need more drama—it just needs a uterus check.
