Paint a mural ✅

Biggest painting I’ve ever done! Thank you St. James for the opportunity! Painting a life size mangrove tree wasn’t on my 2026 bucket list but here we are! Kids that went to St. James new and old came tonight to put their handprints on the wall. We added the teachers to the Roots because that’s exactly what they are. This was so dun and such a special thing to be apart of! 🪾👋🏼 maybe one day my daughter will have her kids here and get to add their handprints 🥹

Yesterday I had a blast teaching a precious group of kiddos at Ocean Studies Charter School my artsy turtle! This was so fun because the theme of camp was Art and their mascot is a turtle so we combined the two together to create an adorable turtle that painted the coral and seaweed in his art studio in the ocean. He had so much fun being creative that he got paint all over his shell and his face and flippers. His name is Arty. The story I just told you is what unfolded during the art class. Kids have the biggest imaginations and today made me realize just how much I love teaching.. or guiding I should say! My classes aren’t about copying me to a T. I give you a traced out canvas of my design. I have my example and you even get the same colors I used. Some steps we do together like the blue background and the green flippers and head. After that? We get creative. My goal is for everyone to leave with a unique piece of art they are PROUD of! I’m always here for help and guidance but it’s so fun watching everyone create something different and get messy with it! Thank you soooo much to Taylor for inviting me to teach! I had an amazing time!
