Lookout for our next production - JAAGRATA. Let us join together and work towards the cause :-
To be completely honest, I'm still processing this week. Never in my life have I felt so desperate to fight for a cause. You Can Free Us is an organization devoted to rescuing and rehabilitating women caught in human trafficking (which includes education, job preparation, life skills, etc). I have been given the most incredible opportunity to learn from, teach, and love these girls in Mumbai that have really suffered. Rather than treating them as victims, the government continues to treat s*x trafficked girls as criminals while society, along with their families, abandon and betray them.
Listening to the experiences these women have gone through has made me reevaluate every aspect of my life. I beg each and every one of you to take the time and effort to wake the hell up. There's a world outside of us where women are drugged and don't see the light of day for years together. There's a world where girls are sold for money by their own loved ones.
There's a world where we can contribute and help change these lives. I'm doing a dance production for this organization and I humbly ask you to support this cause and these beautiful women that have changed my life. Please do reach out to me if you would like to get involved, volunteer abroad, or learn more about what you can do to help. Every dollar, every notebook, and every hug truly has value.
