Floodwater Comedy Festival Floodwater Comedy Festival is a stand-up and improv comedy fest happening in downtown Iowa City on November 14 and 15, 2025.

Lineup and tickets are available now at floodwatercomedy.org! Floodwater Comedy Festival brings to Iowa City some of the biggest names in comedy, from the legendary improv teams of Chicago’s iO Theatre to nationally renowned comedians. Floodwater also showcases established and up-and-coming comedic talent from Iowa and the rest of the Midwest. Floodwater operates under the umbrella of Willow Creek

Theatre, a nonprofit organization founded in January 2020. The nonprofit, volunteer-run theatre is committed to upholding Iowa City's tradition of celebrating and developing the arts in our community. Known as Iowa's Improv Theatre, Willow Creek fosters local talent through our programming, including our improv conservatory; we also create a collaborative environment between our community and acclaimed industry professionals. It is our combined mission to bring you a festival that will be entertaining and interactive, with opportunities to expand your comedic chops. Most importantly, we want to make you laugh!

The all new EVERYDAY IMPROV STARTS TOMORROW! 🎭✨

There’s still time to join us for Willow Creek Theatre Company’s new 8-week improv program, designed for everyone — whether you’re brand new to improv or already have stage experience.

Everyday Improv is all about building confidence, creativity, storytelling, listening, performance skills, and a stronger improv community here in Iowa City.

⏰ 6:00–8:00 PM

🎟️ $300 for the full 8-week session

Can’t sign up before the first class? No problem — you can still sign up any time, even after the session begins.

Students also receive FREE admission to Willow Creek house team performances during the course.
