Obrigada Brazil

Thank you to everyone who made this possible. Thank you to Denise, Jorden & Ray for making this trip possible.

I got everything I came for and then some. Most people will talk about what they learned on a trip like this but instead I want to talk about how I felt.

I felt at home. I went half way across the globe and felt more comfortable than I do in my own city sometimes.

Thank you to Jorden and Ray for making me feel safe and comfortable. That gave me space to be vulnerable and try new ways of thinking and being.

I could go on and on about the effect of each individual person in our delegation. My interpersonal communication style was an excellent fit for this group of advocates and activists. Or as I prefer to say, the vibe was mostly immaculate.

I often have the opportunity to meet a lot of brilliant minds with policy ideas that I support but I don’t consider them my folks. It’s nice to be with my folks. I had a truly transformative experience. Would do again.

Hype me up, Auntie!

The family always rocks with me. This design is for them. We came out of Martindale-Brightwood and now we roam wherever we choose.

They taught me that we are never stuck in one place, one job or one way of thinking.
