Meet the Cast of Southbank Theatre Presents: Fun Home the Musical: Patrick Vaughn (he/him) as Bruce 🏠

Patrick returns to Southbank Theatre after previously appearing in Machinal. Around Indianapolis, you may have seen him in Dear Bobby at District Theatre, Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom with Naptown African American Theatre Collective, or Cabaret with Actors Theatre of Indiana.

His extensive stage career has also taken him to theatres across the region, with credits including Dial M for Murder, Indecent, Oliver!, The Elephant Man, Assassins, and multiple productions of 1776. Patrick has also appeared on film, with credits including For Sale By Owner, The Silence Between, and Myth of Man.

Now Patrick steps into the role of Bruce Bechdel, Alison’s complicated and enigmatic father at the center of many of the memories she revisits throughout Fun Home.

Meet the Cast of Southbank Theatre Presents: Fun Home the Musical: Julie Lyn Barber (she/her) as Alison 🏠

Julie is making her Southbank Theatre debut in what she calls a "dream role". You may have recently seen her as Frau Blücher in Young Frankenstein or as Alice in Titanic with Actors Theatre of Indiana.

When she's not onstage, Julie is Head of Musical Theatre at Purdue University Fort Wayne (PFW) and co-founder of Queerly Creative Lives. She will be directing The Lightning Thief: The Percy Jackson Musical this fall at PFW.

Alison Bechdel first told her story in the graphic memoir Fun Home: A Family Tragicomic. It was later adapted it into the musical that won five Tony Awards—including Best Musical in 2015.
