Friends of Homosassa Springs Wildlife Park

Homosassa Springs Wildlife State Park glady welcomes our newest manatee, Heinz!

Struck by a boat along with her calf, Heinz has some difficulty surfacing to breath as a result of her injuries. While her calf Siracho recovered quickly and was released late last year, Heinz may need some more time to heal. Whatever length of time she may need to recover, we are glad to welcome Heinz to our state park.

It takes an extensive network of dedicated groups and individuals to help manatees in need. Thank you to ZooTampa at Lowry Park, Clearwater Marine Aquarium, Save the Manatee Club, SeaWorld Orlando, Florida State Parks and the Manatee Rescue & Rehabilitation Partnership.
