Pretty but very destructive!!! The Eastern Lubber grasshopper has colorful, neat markings and is a garden pest. They love to eat my veggies and flower leaves. Luckily, lots of Florida wildlife like to snack on them like squirrels, birds, and frogs!

Moths can be just as cool as butterflies! I spotted this Bella or Ornate moth this morning on a Rattlebox bloom, which I discovered was the host for its caterpillars. The caterpillars eat the seeds that contain toxins which make both the larvae and adults poisonous to predators. The Bella moth is also one of those that likes to take flight during the day.
